If 10 seconds isn’t an exaggeration then idk what to tell you other than take it to a mechanic.

My 2016, prior to getting it tuned, would bog down and have a delayed response on the throttle for a few seconds max….but 10 seconds, if not an exaggeration, is dangerous

ok. Something is broken. 10 seconds means you could push the pedal down, get out of the truck and run a Chinese fire drill, and climb back in before it goes anywhere.

Side note: I was running KD Max 9.0 and loved it, until I got the upgrade to the Black Hawk tune that YotaWerx offered to bring KD Max people over. Worth a look.

Bro if it’s legit going into limp mode then some major is wrong with it, like that’s not just being bogged down or a delayed throttle response.

When is the last time you changed the spark plugs? If you haven’t, I would start there.

You need to datalog with techstream or some other high refresh rate scanners.
Limp mode is triggered by specific codes.

Ok, so no codes. So it’s not in limp mode?

Correct. No codes, no limp mode.
If you have access to Service manual, there is a section (fail safe) with all codes.
Accelerator and throttle body codes are there.
On new tacomas, torque converter lock solenoid is engaging in 2nd, in older models in 3rd.
When it happens, the throttle plate is getting closed while maintaining the same accelerator input. Usually It lasts for about a sec. You mentioned 10sec,which a lot.

It doesn’t always happen when driving from a stop. It’s completely random.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
If you have not done so recently, do the simple stuff first.

Clean the throttle body. A dirty throttle body can have a huge impact on performance and idle.

Put in a new PCV. They are dirt cheap. Forget the “rattle” test. Just put a new one in.

If you are running an afermarket air filter, dump it and put Toyota OEM filter in. I tried 3 different aftermarket filters, and all 3 caused the truck to seriously struggle going up a long steep highway incline. Brutally starving for air. On the flats those filters were fine. Not until pushing it up a 20 mile steep climb did the issue become apparent. Same hill I drive for fishing trips, same weight and fuel type in truck each time. OEM filter returned performance to normal. I was shocked those filters had such a negative impact on real performance.

    Clean your MAF.

I have zero issues with my 2023 I use 93 octane which I’m sure that helps. I don’t drive my truck like it’s a sports car so I’m happy with it just the way it is.
