Yesterday I was cleaning my truck and I notice the idle pulley wobbles a little , in my experience it should be firm . Do any of you guys have the same problem ?

I believe there is a TSB out there for this. Mine is a bit discolored on half of it that I forgot to mention to the dealer during the 15,000mi visit. I will have them take a look at the 20k.

Also, keep an eye on that coolant hose with the braided cover that is on the left side of your pic. As it ages a bit, it will start to rub the flange on the metal bracket behind it. Mine had clearence when new but started to rub over time. It is very easy to trim the flange back a bit.

That's a great point about that bracket, it was touching on my truck so I ended up grinding some metal off and repainting it.

I have the same wobble ... noticed it when I was airing up my tires and running a compressor off the battery. Buddy was doing the same on his '18 Sport Manual and was able to compare them side by side as the motors idled. Very easy to spot with the trucks next to each other. Didn't know there was a TSB. Will look into this before I address on my own.

My driver side pulley wobbles some, but I had completely spaced it until this thread popped up. I’ll check it again tomorrow. Truck goes in Tuesday for recall and brake shudder so if it’s still wobblen I’ll have them check it as well.

Did a quick search in the TSB sticky thread and didn’t find one. When I say search I mean a quick visual scan while on my phone so take that for what it’s worth ha

I had mine looked at for the 20k service. They noted the issues but said that it was okay and would be replaced only if it started making noise.

If it is still working after ToyotaCare is done, just the 25k tire rotation, I may replace it on my own.

Just got the call from the dealer. They said they noticed the wobble on the driver side idler pulley. However, it is normal per them as most have some movement on this engine. Not how I have been taught, but at least it is noted in case it starts making noise or gets worse. It really hasn't changed since I first noticed it 5k miles ago so I'll just check it every time i pop the hood.
