tacoma is dead....i need help

    i own a 1998 toyota tacoma 4x4 and it is my pride and joy...i was in an accident in 07 and my truck has been in storage for 5 or so years.....i bought a new battery and got some fresh gas and all it does is crank....pleasse help...i am desprate to get "bossy" back on the road

    If it hasn't run for 5 years, you could have some deep rooted problems in that engine. The link Alaskan Toy gave you is a good read. Hopefully you don't have a similar problem but it's possible. With a vehicle that has sat for that long, you could have a lot of trouble chasing down the issues that have developed over time.

    today is going to be good weather so i will check to see if if i have spark by pulling one of the plugs and holding it close to the block while it is cranked....also someone also suggested taking out the fuel filter and checking to see if it is clogged....i am not getting any fuel under the hood....i cant tell if the fuel pump is turning on or not....so i will pull the fuel filter and check....thinks guys and i will keep you posted.....lets hope "bossey" will get back on the road
