To big? Mine is just right. Talk about tight parking I take mine into NYC all the time, now that’s tight parking. OP you might be a better fit for the Ridgeline.

That’s the best comparison shot I’ve seen.

The 1st Gen: All pro 3” lift (650 lbs coils, expedition rears with bilstiens),Timbren rear bumpstops, ubolt flip, diff drop, carrier bearing drop, 33’s on beadlocks ,ARB Bumper, winch, hand throttle, ARE canopy, roof bars, poly bushings all around minus the body mounts. The 2nd Gen: Leveling kit, roll up tonneau cover. 265/75/16’s
The ‘04 bucket seats are comfortable enough, but aren’t really anything to write home about. If I find a pair of 3rd gen limited 4Runner seats local, I’ll probably spring on those. I do like that it feels like I strap on my ‘04 when I get in it, where my 15 feels like I’m awkwardly sitting on top of an exercise ball.

I miss the gas mileage! My dad’s ‘87 T4R would get 30mpg hwy with 30” AT’s and was a beast off road!
My ‘94 compact 2WD (single cab) is still on the road getting 50mpg’s. It was still getting 30 when I had it! The guy that has it put a hydrogen peroxide kit on that baby.
The 2000 Tacoma rust bucket finally had to go..
    All of those were MT’s!

My ‘17 is getting close to the size of my dad’s ‘03 F150..

I know we don’t buy our trucks for fuel economy much anymore, but I do miss the old 2.2L! Awesome little engine that could even in the midsize/compact market. I still wish I had the old compact ‘94 just to run in to town or daily driver!!

I had a 1987 isuzu rc pup with the 2.2 diesel and 7 ft bed and 360,000 miles on the odo. It got 35 Mpg but squeeked like crazy. I paid $500 for it, sold it for the same amount. I think it's still on the road. I wish they still sold a true mini truck like back in the 80's, but they probably wouldn't pass the modern safety standards.

That’s sounds like an awesome truck. No squeaking in mine but it’s also air bag free. It will cruise on the interstate no problem but I feel sketchy doing it.

I think the mileage requirements killed the regular cab pickup. Based on the wheelbase, they didn't get good enough mpg. So most manufacturers ditched the reg cab 6' bed trucks and offer AC and DC trucks that don't need to get good mpg. I've had a few 86-91 reg cabs and 4Runners, those were nice compact trucks that served the purpose. The 2nd gen Tacoma is almost a full size truck. I hope somebody decides to make a reg cab 6' bed truck in the near future or I'll need to find the cleanest one I can locate and store it away for a few years. Here's a few of my old trucks.

Nifty. They haven't had frames that size in 6+ years.

o_O you ever park a taco next to the Frontier? The Nissan is a bit bigger in the corners, and has a deeper bed

There is no way you were getting 50 mpg in your old Truck.

My Tacoma looks like a toy next to my dad's 2009 Tundra.

It was getting 50mph with a hydrogen peroxide kit added. It was NOT stock. The guy after me added that. It changed the fuel burn..
You could all but pick up the rear of that little compact. It was the last year they made the 2.2L. Those compacts didn’t weigh very much at all..
Mine was like this, but red..

My Tacoma size works great, but I can tell you that the Hyundai truck is going to come out. I know that for certain.

Santa Cruz. And it'll be just as big as every dcsb midsize truck out there.
