    This is a "friend mod" Because only your friends say it's cool. But luckily we're internet friends. :D

    Ha ha. Thats a good idea. I could download the mp3 of the song and just roll the windows down. To round out the look, I would need to get an 80's afro and shiny leather jacket with nut hugger jeans.

    Anyone done a mod where flames come out of the bumper when you mash the gas pedal over some sand dunes? jk.

    I got the movie props thing out of my system now. On to rock sliders and some skid plates.

    do you have a copy of the sketch you used on the board ? I am working on integrating the Arduino into the tacoma, and this would be great. Did you ever figure out where to mount it? I am still searching for a good spot

    Here is the Arduino sketch. I think a made a few changes but I am built off this guys sketch:

    /* Knight Rider 3
    * --------------
    *
    * This example concentrates on making the visuals fluid.
    *
    *
    * (cleft) 2005 K3, Malmo University
    * @author: David Cuartielles
    * @hardware: David Cuartielles, Aaron Hallborg
    */

    int pinArray[] = {8,9,10,11,12,13};
    int count = 0;
    int loopcount = 0;
    int timer = 30;
    int speedlimit = 12;

    void setup(){
    for (count=0;count<6;count++) {
    pinMode(pinArray[count], OUTPUT);
    }
    }

    void loop()
    {
    for (timer = 52; timer >=speedlimit; timer -=4)
    {
    for (count=0;count<5;count++)
    {
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count], HIGH);
    delay(timer);
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count + 1], HIGH);
    delay(timer);
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count], LOW);
    delay(timer*2);
    }
    for (count=5;count>0;count--)
    {
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count], HIGH);
    delay(timer);
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count - 1], HIGH);
    delay(timer);
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count], LOW);
    delay(timer*2);
    }
    }

    for (loopcount=0;loopcount <=40;loopcount++)
    {
    for (count=0;count<5;count++)
    {
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count], HIGH);
    delay(speedlimit);
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count + 1], HIGH);
    delay(speedlimit);
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count], LOW);
    delay(speedlimit*2);
    }
    for (count=5;count>0;count--)
    {
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count], HIGH);
    delay(speedlimit);
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count - 1], HIGH);
    delay(speedlimit);
    digitalWrite(pinArray[count], LOW);
    delay(speedlimit*2);
    }
    }
    }

    I have added a power switch to make it easy to turn off/on. I used a "add a fuse" to deliver power to the Arduino. the board is just stuffed up on the right had side of the dash ( next to the tray). I stuffed the board in an ankle sock to keep it from accidentally shorting on something. ;) Thats low tech but it works.

    If you do something.... upload video/audio or post link to your thread. I would love to hear what you are doing.

    I have been keeping my notes and prototypes here

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/210111-arduino-tacoma.html

    I am relativly new to the Arduino. I am also working on some Android apps to interface with the Arduino.

    I did finish my Garage door opener project to open and close the door / light with an app on my phone using an arduino ethernet, works great.

    that is great, I am in the process of doing something very similar with the tacoma. The TacoDuino. I will be integrating a OBDII reader to the system if I can get the code figured out.

    The website is not mine. Nor am I very talented at arduino programming. But, I was looking for codes and applications and stumbled across it. Thought you guys would find it interesting.
