My 2017 has developed the same thing. It’s because the rear driver side leaf spring takes all the abuse of getting pounded out with the gas tank and driver and all sitting on it. It sees the sag before the passenger side. I think all of these trucks are gonna go this way. I’m planning on replacing my leaf springs this year, but I feel you pain. The squishy driver side rear end sucks.

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.

This also happens on in the Land Cruiser world. Everyone has to understand the the geometry of the vehicle has been altered after a lift. This is corrected by a Panhard bar adjustment which I believe is not on Tacomas? I believe they are on 4Runners though. Once a lift is done you can tell the misalignment by the driveshaft from the rear axle should be off center from its original stock location. If it's not lifted and you have a lean it could just need a panhard adjustment or install one if one is not there.

do you think the usual 1/4 spacer up front would correct it to almost perfect?

what about a shim in the rear driver's leafs? I don't want to mess with the driveline geometry too much...

Do you have a side view picture of the truck? The “lean” doesn’t look too noticeable from the pictures you uploaded

1/4" spacer on drivers side strut will fix it. It's called the taco lean for a reason. They have had the lean for at last 25 years now

I'm guessing one or other other? Doing both the spacer AND the shim might overcompensate?

My understanding is the 1/4” front shim will address the back side lean, as backwards as that may seem. With these truck there is a lot more weight on the front wheels, so that makes some sense that it would also affect the rear.

did you check it with a full tank, and they checked it with an empty tank? Did you check it when you got out of the truck (265 lbs) and it got driven onto the alignment rack with a 150 lb dude?

Hey everybody. I read all thread and fear its my leaf spring. Been to a few 4x4 places that say it is the “tacoma lean”. Mind you it doesn’t affect the drive or do anything, but look silly. Recently replaced back shocks and added a leveling kit to it 4 months prior. But it is leaning only in the bed of truck by 1 & 1/2 inch on the driver side, compared to passenger side. Very noticeable. Any advice would help.
