You don't need or want the differential drop on a 2nd generation tacoma. It does nothing. Waste of money. I don't have bumps and was told that I didn't need them by Wheeler's Offroad where I purchased my kit from.

Light bar and bumper guard, 3/16 steel skid plates for engine, tranny and transfer box, OME 881 springs with 5100 shocks at mid clip. AAL in rear. Positraction rear diff.
You want the ride height adjustable for the front. The other is for the rear of a lifted truck.

Okay, here's a question. If I buy direct replacement 5100 shocks for the front and 5160 oem replacement rear, can those be used with springs that lift the truck 2"?

Ok, So I got the Autospringcorp spacers, and had to get a 1" block in the rear to level her out.

After getting here to Guam, I have realized I wanted to go a little higher. Also, when I pull up to most Tacos, I seem MUCH lower. I realize this is tires as well I am running P265/70R17 Nitto Dura Grapplers. So again I throw myself to the mercy of the TW knowledge base.

I will be getting my own X-mas gift of a lift this year, and am trying to figure out will this lift

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/3-lift-kit-with-Bilstein-5100-Height-Adj-Coilovers_p_364.html

even give me any higher ride?

Or should I go with a Icon stage one kit? (Don't know what stage one is) They are going to be on sale for cyber Monday.

Also, what height will I need UCAs, and new brake lines? I have heard 3" is the cutoff before you have to get crazy with things.

    Thanks in advance.

SWCCBEE, how much lift did your spacers give you in the front? You don't really want to do more than 3" or you'll need to look into some serious modifications. I went with the full OME kit with Dakar leafs in the rear. Got 3" up front by adding 1/4" top plate spacers and about 2.5" in the rear. If you don't mind trimming, you can add bigger tires which make the truck sit higher too and give you more ground clearance.

Since you're a pre-runner you could look into spindle lifts which will give you about a 4" lift.

I'm so excited! Yota Dan at Wheelers helped me put together a suspension package to suit my budget and my needs. It's being delivered today so I'll have pics up after I get it installed in a few days. Under his recommendation I ended up getting front Billy 5100s, OME 887 coils and a Wheelers HD AAL set. He told me 887 coils have the same spring rate as the 885s but are longer to compensate for my sliders so I can still get a 2.5-3" lift. I have never heard of anyone running 887s on Tacos before (they are 4Runner coils)- anyone out there care to share any experiences with them?

They were 2" spacers, and I only have 265/70 16 on right now. Will go bigger once these wear.

You're the second person I've seen post on here recently that ended up with 887s. Starting a new trend I guess.

so I've been reading quite a bit, and I believe that I have it right, but figure I can post here and ask just to cover myself.

I can put just a set of Bilstein 5100s on my front with my stock coils and what not and level the truck correct? I have a set of monroe shocks in the back that are very similar to the factory shocks. also, what setting should I put them on to level them? .85 or 1.75

I don't have the leaf spring TSB

okay I have done some digging around on this site and the internet looking for a good way to lift my 06 extended cab and this is what I have come up with I just want to ask if this sounds good because I don't have the knowledge some people on here do but its either this or just Im leaning toward just billies for now because of money reasons but if I put them all the way around how will the ride be, can I get three inches, do I need new coils in the front, and will I need extended brake lines in the front

I've gone through 7 pages of this thread and would like to find the answer to this question.

... and would there be alignment issues if the UCAs or LCAs are not replaced?

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
2" of lift in the rear won't mess things up too bad. Some guys run carrier bearing drops, some don't. I recommend it.

A top plate spacer can get you the lift you need for the front, but I don't recommend it. A coil spacer will get you lift as well, but stiffen the ride to hell, also not recommended. 5100's are common and have a good track record. Setting them at 1.75 shouldn't result in a failure to achieve alignment, thus negating the need for UCA's. I haven't heard of anybody running a coil large enough on 5100's such that the stock UCA rubs on the coil either. Any lift over 3" can create a more severe angle on your CV's, and the vanes will start to rub and wear out a little more quickly.

    Pass the syrup.
