My parents have an 05 Tundra and pretty much the coolest thing about it is that the entire rear window slides down (and up) with the push of a button. Is there anyone out there that has modded their Taco's to do this? I'm guessing it would be time consuming, costly, and have the potential to be pretty leaky if done wrong. If anyone out there knows how, or knows of a place that could do it, please share. I'm trying to come up with a feasible way to do it.

its do-able (anything is) but this falls under "why bother". Dream of it, then move on to another mod with actual benefit.

ive been loking into the same thing for my taco, but no such luck yet..
only thing that ive thought that might come slose to working welding and checking clearance was to use the motor and arms and small stuff out of an 80-90s 4runner back window.. but i havent gotton around to trying it...

    I don't own a Taco anymore.
Go buy a 4Runner or Tundra.

Why? Do they morph into creative Auto-bots that will weld and fabricate this project for me?

LOL no they have that window standard :D

I'm just being a smartass. At least I can admit it. Props to you if you can do it. Always been a fan of people taking on something that's never been done. Even if it fails.

Haha, yeah I picked up what you were putting down. Just being a smart ass myself. I think I am going to look for a wrecked Tundra with the 2005 body style. Not sure when Toyota started making those but I think 06 was the last year. Maybe I can salvage the stock motor and mechanics and try to fabricate something...

You'd need a base model rear window as well.

Somebody on here got pretty in depth research done on this and gave up due to the amount of work it would require. Pretty much concluded that he would have to chop the back of the cab off and rebuild it. No room behind the seats to fit a solid window where it needs to be.
