Thats What i Was thinking , I've Been Googling For A Little while Now, And Found This, Unfortunately idk what the problem is until it gets looked at, but it would happen to be either of these it sure would save me a lot of money

The cable runs from the clutch pedal to the clutch assembly itself, and allows you to engage the clutch and change gears. If you have a hydraulic clutch, the problem is likely with the master or slave cylinder. ... If the fluid is low, or the master or slave cylinder has failed, you won't be able to change gears.

Do you have an aftermarket short-throw shifter?

Easy way to tell if it's the clutch. Does the truck run in 6th gear while you are at a stop with the clutch pedal pushed in? If so, it's probably not the master/slave cylinder. If the truck stalls out even with the clutch pushed in (while in gear), likely the clutch is not engaging. even without using the clutch you should be able to get the transmission out of gear if the truck is moving.

If you can eliminate the clutch then it's likely internal to the transmission. It's not uncommon to have a bad slave cylinder or broken clutch fork that would cause what you are describing.

I had the same problem with 5th gear in a Jeep Wrangler several years ago... the 5th gear slider hub cracked, locking the slider to the hub. I actually broke the shift bushing trying to jerk it out of gear.

I had to replace the 5th gear slider assembly and the shift bushing to fix it. I did all the work myself, so it wasn't an expensive repair... if you have to pay someone to do it, it may be fairly expensive.

^ Exactly, I was thinking of going to a pull a part yard and maybe dropping a 5 speed trans into her, 6 gear is pretty useless anyway, it's a risk but a trans is only $137 at the yard instead of $1200 for a brand new one, worth a shot

Not sure if a 5 speed trans will work with the V6. I think they were only in the 4 cyl

your correct a 5 speed was only in the 4 cyl, they also dont make the 4 cyl any longer, but the 5 speed is the most reliable toyota transmission, the truck will have a higher rpm in 5th gear with no 6, but with a couple changes will function perfectly fine

    Transmission Model: A750E RWD
    A750F 4WD

The A750 (auto) has a lower rev than the RA60 by about 400 revs at 80. That’s not a plug and play swap either. I’m not sure if he was referring to the R155f (more likely imo) but I have no idea if the bellhousings mate or not. R series tranny’s have a good reputation for being stout tho so wouldn’t worry about durability.

A 5spd manual out of a 4cyl wont drop in as a replacement. The 1GR doesnt have a place for a pilot bearing that the R155/R155F utilizes

If you are wanting to swap a 5spd auto in, its gonna be a lot of work
