May's drill is usually the first weekend so you should be good there. But be sure to check your YTC (Yearly Training Calendar)

got another email out to olaf at bfe to check on the weekend before too, just to compare on how busy each weekend will be...

he is quite in tune with the happenings around moab and has been very helpful thus far...

the way it's looking though, is that we'll be there 17th-20th...

with a camp location like bfe, i would suggest the more campers the better to make the weekend a crazy one...sounds like there is plenty of space for our group and some...

i will be planning on showing up as soon as possible thursday morning (i'd go up late wednesday night but i don't want to set up camp at 1am..) and will send updates as soon as i can...so whoever else can make it up there early thursday can help me lay claim to as many campsites as possible and work out a perimeter

didn't think i could get more pumped for this event until now.!

so i asked olaf about the weekend of the 10-13th and he said this...

"I don't have anything scheduled for May 10-13. That's going to be a quieter weekend as far as May."

versus the 17-20th the rally on the rocks, http://www.rallyontherocks.com/, will be going on may 16-19th in moab....

and may 3-6 is completely out of the question with cruise moab taking place that weekend...

    food for thought....

no...but this rally on the rocks involves shit ton of side by sides that sometimes crowds up the popular trails...

but really the only issue we came across last year wasn't on the trails, but on the roads getting to the trailheads waiting for 50 side by sides to cross the street

talking with olaf, he does not seem to think camping will be an issue either way, but i wanted to throw it out there for people to think about

First off a big thanks for all the hard work you are putting this together.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Rally on the Rocks side by sides if we by chance cross paths they are pretty fast through the trails.

Plus I'm sure we can find out what trails they plan to run each day and just try to avoid each other.

exactly...we were able to avoid most of them last year by finding out their route and ended up avoiding hells revenge where they all hit that saturday we were there...
