As far as recovery gear, what is recommended that everyone have for this trip? I am trying to build up my recovery gear stash, so I could use some pointers as well. I do have a 48” hi-lift, the Off-road kit (8’ tree saver and everything I need to turn it into a manual winch), I have a tow strap (2”x20’), a few pairs of leather gloves, and a shovel.

Things im looking at getting are another tow strap (not sure on length) a few D shackles, anything else you suggest for moab, or in general?

I have read the sticky in the Off-Road section, but wanted to maybe have a list in here for the guys that are going.

    Heads up:
Transporting beer and alcohol in to Utah is considered "bootlegging." So don't keep it in plain sight.

    Side note:
We went to Moab with over 300 beers, bought in Colorado.

At the very least a recovery strap, D shackles, shovel and gloves. All the other stuff is nice to have but IMO not required with all the other trucks in the group going.

I picked up the ARB Premium Recover Kit from Sierra Expedition back in June. I missed the TW group buy but Will (FlyinWil) was able to get me a great price ($313.15 shipped). It may have gone up since then.

    is it May yet?

i mean i love winter, but i do miss moab!

so far leaning toward cliffhanger on friday, maybe a hike and shorter trail on saturday with top of the world on our way out on sunday...thursday will be a day to play in bfe for us..thinking green day and maybe lockjaw or at least minor threat

i will be suggesting, as it was said before as well, that the groups be limited to 10 trucks which makes it easier to keep track of everyone and keeps the trail moving along at a good pace..

i would imagine that there will be 3-5 different trails run each day as well

travel day...we plan on getting there like 10-11am at BFE thursday so we'll have the afternoon in BFE where we plan on messing around on some trails in the afternoon

when i set up the porta-john i'll have that dropped off thursday and picked up sunday...

garbage will be on us to figure out...it's like $200 to rent a dumpster, so maybe we can just coordinate a dump run once a day to dispose of our garbage

I'm curious what mods / parts / accessories etc. everybody has planned for their trucks before Moab?

For now I just have the following planned.
    • ATO skids
    • CB
    • Tires / Wheels
