So you saying just run detroits front/rear? Sounds iffy with sharp turns.

lol :D Actually, I know a few hardcore off-roaders that have BLs.... Granted, they're usually not higher than 1", but still.... I don't think BLs are quite as bad as the gerneral consenus here seems to make them out to be. FWIW....

I say keep the BL (if it's in good shape) and just get some 3" springs! You'll be golden, my friend. Of course, COG is a big issue up in Moab so you want to be as low as possible... So you could get rid of the BL and just tub the firewall to fit your 35s... It's up to you though. :)

EDIT: Just realized you have 285s... In that case, just get rid of the BL.... lol 3" is plenty of lift. ;)

Well its not locked unless the 4wheel drive is engaged i think. Otherwise it would be no different then running a rear i think.

Have just seen a couple ppl do that and it seems to work. Id never do it. I use just 4wheel drive to much to have it locked

    For the rear?

I was looking at the powertrax just a while ago. Im thinking e-locker might be the easier route. Just swap axles. But i do like the sound of the no-slip locker

I figured it would be the same up front. Since I have manual locking hubs I would hope i wouldnt see a difference. Once I'm out of my neighborhood there not much turning to worry about. Maybe Detroit limited slip in the front, and detroit locker in the back...hmm decisions, decisions.

Dude if you have manual hubs the just lock up the front! I would for sure if i had manual hubs i bet. I mean come on. There would be no way for the locker to engage without the hubs locked. Seems like a good way to go. You'd have to change your driving habits a bit. Instead of just going strait to 4wheel drive you'd just lock the rear first. Then you'd engage 4wheel drive to lock the front if you were still stuck. Should work great with manual hubs...makes me want to do a conversion now..lol

It would be terrible in snow though. Lockers + snow is not a good combo

Idk if he has to worry about snow where he lives. But yes, thats why i don't think id ever really just lock the front. I use just good ole 4wd to much to do that. Im going all selectable lockers. Maybe dual ARBs  after armor and some storage for extra CVs lol

    $$$

Locked front ends snap CVs generally. You gotta be ready for that.

Yea i know..very pricey..but it'll be worth it :D i don't really want to go SAS as i don't wheel that hard. Ill prolly just go Mid travel up front and lock it just in case i ever get in a super hairy situation. But yea, definitely gotta have extra CVs lol Was considering LT for a while..but way to pricey for what i want to do with the truck.
