That was the biggest selling feature for me. I was looking a Cobra until until I saw yours in your build.

it's the same thing as a cobra more or less..and same price range too, plus you get the feature of detaching the mic to go handheld...hard not to go with it...

did you end up hard wiring it?

Besides being hand held, how does it compare to the Cobra 75 WX?

I have not hard wired it yet but it is on my to do list. The guy I got my antenna from said it would make a big difference on the sound quality. He also said to straight from the battery and not the fuse block because it will pick up a lot of engine noise. How did you hard wire yours and it it make a noticeable difference in sound quality?

i have mine wired into the power source to my mirror adjuster...only have an issue if i'm adjusting my mirrors and have the cb on, sometimes will get some feedback..but it's a 12v source so no power issues

I don't know any specifics but that is the Cobra unit I was looking at. I've heard good things about it but it just made sense for about the same price to have a portable unit.

Any noticeable difference in sound quality hard wire vs the 12v outlet?

Agreed. It would be nice to carry a radio when not in truck to determine trail routes.

FYI ToyTec is having a sale on Bilstein 5160's $359.99 A little more than the 5150's

nice find...dk if i need the full resi tho...but worth looking into when it comes time...

i would need the option $98 adjuster to adjust my settings though, right?

yea that seems like over kill to me...and expensive! and way too big for my setup...my current setup is 14" collapsed 24" extended...smallest size in those collapsed is >20"

YAY! I love my midland one too!

Im gonna hard wire in the base part tho with an external antenna as well.

Sounds like some 10'' 5150s will do the trick with some new bump stops. I need new bump stops..

    i don't see why??

With 10s, if you ever got that deep into into it, you could just make new mounts to make the go /\ 10'' will be perfect for that as in that configuration they don't travel as far.

really don't want to get into realligning my shock mounts at this point....i'll be happy for now getting the most out of my leafs. not a fabricator either, so until a kit comes out or someone around here has a setup that works, that won't be happening anytime soon

perfect setup would allow my leafs full droop and the shock collapse length not limit my full up travel...

and a shackle flip kit to give me hella droop

Think Jerry is gonna make a kit for it actually. Still, that does indeed take a big mod..

And what leaf do you have?? Really think you have 30'' of down travel?? lol

    Well of course! I know.

And ohhhh i miss read! I thought you were getting a Ubolt flip kit. Yea the shackle kit is gonna give you tons oh droop.

I think i actually might need the 12s too  but oh well...my second freakin set of 5150s already due to mis measurement. But i think its okay for now anyways..
