Hello I've been having a few issues as of lately. I went out for lunch I wasn't gone for no longer then 20 mins and when I started my engine my check engine light stayed on my oil temp stayed on, and when I tried to leave my steering wheel would not move at all. As if the power steering was disabled. I quickly turned off the vehicle and then waited 1 mins started it it and the issue was gone. This has happened twice though. Any suggestions?

Probably time for a trip to the Dealer, and hopefully they will not give you any crap of not being able to reproduce it.

Might be a really stupid question but are you sure the vehicle actually started? If not, that might account for the lights on the dash and the power steering not operating.

Makes sense. If the stereo or fan were on high, you might think you started it but didn't? Would explain all 3 symptoms. If not, the steering could be really big safety issues if it happened while driving..

If your dealer won't take care of you, you need to contact Toyota Corporate. Also why would you purchase from a dealer with such a reputation? Just saying.:D

Then I would definitely take it in. This is not like a vibration, noise or rattle issue. This is one they should not have to try to reproduce to look into it. Like others have said. You should contact corporate about this. Others may have had this problem and you can get it on record.

If by chance it happens again before you take it in. Get a pic of the dash with the warning lights on and showing the tach to show its running.

It just seems odd if it were started that oil and temp lights would be on AND the power steering wouldn't work. Power steering is belt driven and only works when the engine is running. I wouldn't think the issues would be related.
