I have a 2.7 2010 tacoma. Already put a high flow cat to a magnaflow muffler. Is there ANY CAI that will still draw from the fender, and truly let more air to the engine. I realize its a 4 banger. Sorry if this question has been asked a million times before.

Why do you think it needs more air? Maybe cooler air would help but your talking less then a HP.

Yeah that's why I asked, I didn't think it would make a huge difference, short of a supercharger, Didnt know if there was anything else I could do.

I'm no expert, but from what I understand about these trucks you don't really get your money's worth from the usual intake, exhaust, etc on these little 4 bangers. Forced induction is the only thing you'll really see major gains on.

Though I did put a Magnaflow exhaust on my truck because...brap brap! :D

We are very limited in the 4.7 for airflow. I do believe that I saw somewhere out there that a person or company were making throttle bodies with a larger opening in them. That is really the best bet there. If you look at the current throttle opening, it is smaller than the air induction piping by a reasonable amount already. You can open the entire intake inlet all you want, and you can still only get so much air past the throttle body without some form of forced induction, unless you get a larger throttle body.

Thanks, I think I'll go will some headers. Don't see throwing $ on a CIA when my tacoma already draws from the fender. One last thing... When I turn my AC on you can feel a slight loss if power. Is there anything you can do about that? Or is that typical with 4 cyl?

There is a member on her named tooter i believe, and he makes an intake manifold spacer for the 2.7. They really only move the torque band down to give u some more low end and mids, but that eould be what ur after i assume since ur a four banger.

This is typical with any engine size in any vehicle the compressor under the hood when engaged by the AC will rob a bit of power from the engine to turn the compressor. Nothing you can do about it unless you dont need the AC. I have read some threads in here about disengaging the AC when you turn on the defrost but that would only be usefull in the winter and it helps with the dehumidification of defrost.
