    Hi,

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I am just trying to understand what the differences are for: Prerunner, SR5 and Limited?
My '00 is a 4x4 but I can't figure out which model it is.....

    Thanks, G

If yours is a 4X4, it can't be a PreRunner. A PreRunner is a 2WD model built on the 6-lug (4X4) chassis / suspension setup.

In 2000 the Limited package / edition was a V6 XtraCab.

The SR5 trim / option packages were available for any model Tacoma in 2000.

You need to give some specifics on the truck before anyone can figure out what options might and might not apply ...

    OK...here's what I know I have
    2000 Tacoma
    4x4
    5spd / Manual Transmission
    XtraCab
31" tires (some suppliers' databases suggest this only came with prerunner)
No fancy power windows or door locks....actually the way I like it.

What else would you be looking for.

    It looks like this:

just ignore the topper.......it was only a test

It is not an access cab, that would mean it has doors for the extra cab. By quick glance, it isn't an SR5 either. But it is a good looking truck.

Yeah, thanks. Ooops, I meant XtraCab.

What defines the SR5 package? Is that package more "off road" oriented?

Yeah. They were a bit, ummm, feminine.

Although, when I stripped them I found out they were used to mask a re-painted area. One of these days I'll call the P.O. and ask about any repairs.

I believe the SR5 is just like power windows/locks. Just the little extras.

Weird, mine is a '98 SR5 with manual windows, locks, ect, really no options. Has SR5 badges anyhow.

sr5 is like power windows, door locks, cruise control, different bumpers, and maybe a nicer radio...nothing that really is important...it's prolly just a 4x4...not sr5 or anything...sr5 doesn't really mean "better" ...it's just a marketing scheme...lol

Wow, you are all really nice to one another! If this question was asked in the 2nd gen forum, then the OP would have been grilled by now. Lots of rude people at that side.
