I like cheap trucks. Or cheap vehicles in general. Always been a minimalist regarding frills..I attribute that to having owned a lot of cars that were 9-12 yrs old when I bought them, which is around the time that such frills can become problematic and fixing those things as a college student wasn't always realistic on the cheap.

12 yrs I've had my 2010 single cab auto. Love it. No power windows/locks/etc and after adding the delay wipers and my killer stereo (which is always going to happen in my vehicles), it does what I need.

If I had to go fullsize (which I don't need), I'd probably look hard at the F150..if only by process of elimination. I'll never again own a GM, Dodge has the Ram Rot. The Tundra and Titan ain't awful in general but those prices would be most likely more than I'd want to drop.

Well, I like mine. The narrow width between the wheel wells is not a new thing, BTW. I've owned a pre-1st gen, 1st gen, 2nd gen, and now 3rd gen....all have the same issue. This is the first Tacoma I've owned with an a AT, and with 6 speeds, it's almost like it shifts twice as much as the old 3-speeds I'm used to. Fancy that.

I was coming back from Texas in my 2020 and an '05 like the first one I owned (that that asshole kid totalled back in '13, see ridiculously previous post) was outperforming me uphill with a bed full of ebikes. I realized at the dealership when I went to shop for a 2025 that what they're selling is basically a 2005 Tundra with a Tacoma engine in it. There's hope on the horizon with the Stout? I've been told?

I don't know, I work at a Ford dealership now. I'm still and always will be a Toyota fanboy, but they lost me with the 3rd gens. My 2016 GMC dash was better. But it's okay, because I'm looking at getting my dream RHD diesel Hilux for my birthday.

I guess I just didn't realize that the type of truck I drive defined how soft my hands were.

I always thought that was based on whether or not someone used moisturizer but hey, I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

not sure why you’re getting so butt hurt I drive a Tacoma I love my truck and I think it’s great otherwise I wouldn’t own one but I realize what it can and can’t do. I don’t try to use it as a work truck because at work I have an actual real truck

and yes Americans are fucking soft as fuck even blue collar guys. Having traveled to some third world shit holes where they made Toyota trucks for real men, Americans are soft pussies that why we don’t get the hilux or 70 series because we don’t need it

When you make generalizations like that, you are talking about me and everyone here, maybe you dont realize that. Maybe you do and dont care (clearly and nor should you.)

What I find more interesting is when I make a similar judgement and generalization you gotta go and drop trou. My point being if you cant handle being judged or generalized without trying to measure dick sizes, perhaps it isnt as cool as you think it is. Im not trying to change your prespective, Im just gonna call you on your shit.

I understand your generalization, I do, more than you know. In all honesty, we'd probably get along really well. I might not be blue collar enough as an industrial/commercial hvac mechanic but my paycheck literally comes from keeping your "american soft hand soy boys" comfortable as you so eloquently put it. I definitely get it.

While it was intended to be disrepctful, since ive made my argument, I apologize for the disrepect.

no disrespect taken. The hilux is more robust than a Tacoma (fully boxed frame, much higher payload and diesel options) as enthusiasts I’m sure most of us on this forum would prefer it over the Tacoma but in this country we are fortunate (some might argued cursed) to basically live in comfort and convenience so we get the Tacoma instead
