All well and good but not everyone is Monty Burns, with $30k lying around.

The dealer tried to hit me with 5.2% on my 2014, I told them I wasn't going to buy at that rate and when I made it clear I was serious they bumped it down to 3.2%. I begrudgingly accepted because my military discount made up the difference from the 2.4% USAA offered. It doesn't hurt that I got my truck for every bit of $4K under MSRP. TFS then further bumped me down to 2.9%!!

Usaa was giving me 2.99 and then toyota said they would match it. I told them 1.99 then they can have the loan. They extended my loan for 6 more months but i didn't care Since I put zero down with 1.99.

I qualified for the lowest rate my dealer would give, 2.84% APR. TFS gave me the loan. This was back in February.

I pride myself in being able to get the lowest price possible from a dealer. Buying my new Tacoma was a humbling experience. The dealer would hardly move off of msrp and didn't exactly light me up with their trade-in offer.
Around here Tacomas are VERY popular. The sales mrg told me they could put the truck I bought out in front of the lot and it would be gone at msrp in three days. I believed him. Around here dealers have very few Tacomas on the lot. . . only bland plain ones. They sell fast. The salesman called me the day the one I bought came in off the truck.

Got mine in BC last year at .5% interest. Only reason i bought it when I did haha. 2010 corolla wasn't doing it for me. Traded for the taco. Best decision ever.

When I bought my 2014, I went through Navy Federal Credit Union and went with 1.99% @ 72m. Yes it long, I won't have the loan for 72m; 60m was at 1.79%. Next year I have a loan that gets paid off and I'll put that payment towards the Tacoma.

    Toyota Financial was only offering me 3.49% @ 60m OR 3.99% @ 72m.
