Because it can go through some pretty wicked stuff in stock form.

If they made a trd or w/v6 on the reg cab would be a true offroad rig. far superior to other trucks lol

I have also taken all three of my Tacomas over some serious off road tracks in the deserts of California and Baja, Mexico... with no lift. The stock truck has over 9" of min. ground clearance so you sould be able to use some driving skills to steer around bigger rocks in the road.

i just got done today at a 4x4 park in red lodge england on a leveled 2.7 taco with 33" and was handling all thier "wild obstacles, not for the daily driven vehicles" like it was nothing. saw a ex mil land rover d90 that was stuck and my mostly stock taco made it through everything but there (couldnt cause he was stuck there) easy

the reg cab with 33s has the same ground clearance of a wrangler rubicon. and the wheelbase of the reg cab is shorter than the wrangler 4dr unlimited rubicon.

Toyota has to make vehicles that appeal the most people. I'm sure the average Off Road buyer rarely takes them off road so putting lifts on them would be pointless. Those that want to offroad their truck will spend the money to lift it how they want. Toyota would also have to offer different lifts so it would get expensive and complicated.

The problem is that people do fix up their vehicles with lifts and bumpers but they never go offroad.
