That is not a joke, good thing they are adding it next year, power seats were normal like four or five years

I agree that the smaller engine is working harder than a larger motor but I'm leaning on the fact that fords engineers know what they're doing....now execution of said engineering isn't always perfect and there will always be those vehicles with issues in all platforms. Only time will tell the real world longeativity of the ecoboost motors.

I do remember seeing a torture test performed on the 2.7, and the results were pretty decent.

Check out this stock tune on the Ranger. 40 hp 100 tq gained...also claiming 24.6 mpg, which are all very impressive numbers.

Not trying to be a dick, but for myself its not a big deal at all. There is not much adjustment anyways, only the back angle and actual seat moves back and forth. Not much adjustment up and down, not very much room for that. Less stuff to break down. ( not like power seat mechanism breaks down often, its very simple)

I barely adjust my seat, unless of course you have other people drive your truck. Then those memory settings come in handy!

Power seats weigh a bit more and i guess they were trying to save weight to get the best mpgs.

Nothing wrong with the 3rd Gens. Its a small percentage of owners that have had issues.

Every mass produced vehicle, regardless of make/model/year, will have some variance in quality that results in "issues", perceived or otherwise. Toyota has less of these variances as compared to other makes, especially Ford, but is obviously not immune.

    I'll pass on the Ranger.

This one was parked in front of Costco:

I’m with you. I do do think they will up the game with the new model in 2-3 years everyone speaks about but the current one looks like the expedition sporttec. Aka not great. Tacoma is the best looking truck in my opinion.

A lot of people thought the 3rd gen was a terrible design when it first came out.

I personally do not love the new rangers looks but its not terrible. That 2.3 ecoboost is a better motor vs the 3.5, in terms of numbers....barring any reliability concerns.

If you really want to be different, I think the ridgeline is the ticket.

I drove two Rangers for 16 yrs. A ‘00 and a ‘03, loved them both.

Traded the ‘03 in for the Taco in 2016. The trans did have some issues which have decreased with the TSB reflashes. It will do some gear searching on hills and highways. My advice is to be a little more aggressive with the gas pedal and most of the issues go away.

With that said, I love my Taco and have no regrets. And from what I see of the Ranger, I have zero intentions of going back.
