Obviously you're right in that we are all going to have a skewed perspective of the comparison as we are all Tacoma fans here. That being said, here are a few reviews that are worth a watch to compare.

This one is a good in depth review of the Ridgeline: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xmnsy54Ohmk

And here is a review doing a short comparison of the 2016 Tacoma, 2016 Colorado, and 2017 Ridgeline: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tScX5AR5_4g

    Congrats on the baby!

Love my Tacoma- no longer need the sporty sedan.

Over the years I have learned that surgeons and physicians have sacrificed a great deal, and now want to have an emotional connection with a vehicle- such as Tacoma.

That can not happen with a Ridgeline...

No, no no....as a former El Camino owner, I take offense at that, lol. Those were great cars...er, trucks. Available with big V8s, they made great street rods. No Ridgeline could ever say that. Even when stock El Caminos were pretty capable. They came stock with rear air shocks, so you could haul or tow a pretty good load. Did I mention the V8? I love the sound of a V8. That's what's missing from our Tacomas...the great exhaust rumble of a V8. Oh, one other similarity...their gas mileage sucked, just like most Tacomas...but they had a V8.....

Nice- agreed. A buddy of mine had an el camino in high school- back when gas was real cheap; we all loved it!

One thing about the Ridgeline- sold appx 6k units in June/July. The Ridgeline will likely over take the new Titan, and probably the Canyon, next year.

I traded a Ridgeline for my Tacoma, the Ridgeline gets poor gas mileage but if I wasn't going hunting and fishing and beating the crap out of the rideline I would have kept it. They are great city trucks. I never and I mean never had a problem in the snow with blizak tires, I had a very hard time getting it to get out of control in bad weather it just always stuck to the road. I never would trust it to do anything off the street that I do in the Tacoma. The Ridgeline is a SUV for the road and because it is built on a SUV frame it rides nice and is comfortable, if that is what you want in a mid size truck then you wont go wrong with it.

I just took a 2000 miles trip in my Taco. The ride is smoother than any luxury car I've ever own.
