Tacoma Parts IG Scam Warning!!

my mother always said "once a fool, twice an idiot", i have done my fool one!

 

Brick and mortar everyday. Support local business, and if you get scammed you can always throw a brick through their window.

 

I sympathize. I got taken by a custom shift knob producer called Anarchy Motive - found on the gram. Placed order Jan 2021 for a custom 'Death Star' metal shift knob - $165. Their site states custom knobs take up to 4 months to ship. After the 4 months, some back and forth emails requesting status and being told shipping info would be sent soon, I contacted Amex. Amex stated I could not contest the charge after 3 months - take note that even if you pay with a card there are time limits - I assume thieves know this. My last email to anarchy requesting a status update was Sep 2022. A sucker, like me, is born every minute. Fortunately, I got a free knob from a buddy.

There’s a certain mentality out there that feels if they are smart enough to scam you out of your money, then it’s fair game and you should have been smarter.

It’s this mentality that lets them sleep well at night and not worry about the carnage they leave behind.

 

Never use debit cards, period.
With a CC you will be protected.

 

there's a guy on youtube who hacks scammers that take people's money via electronic transfer. he's a savvy computer person with the knowledge to identify the perp and take their files, all of them, and identify exactly where they are, calls them by name, and speaks their language. it's nice to know some people leverage their expertise to do good.

OP - sorry you got scammed. Most of us have, or will be one way or another. It's rough when the cost is high. You are among company.

 

Scammer Payback is one channel that does that. He's building a whole Scammer Payback Call Center.

 

Did he give you a shift knob too?

 

They would just make more money selling your valid email address to phishers and spammers.

you and I damn sure wouldn't! But, it's crazy how many fall for these too good to be true deals every second of every day.

 

Exactly when you see how he want to make the payments transaction you can see it’s a scam . And he want to really do it fast
