I believe it’s called the payload but is 600 lbs too much to put in the bed of my TRD OR? Wanted to use it for my new stand up Jetski coming in at 541lbs. Thank you

It's fine. How are gonna' get the Jet Ski in there? Personally I'd want a trailer.

Going to back the truck into the water pretty far and slide it out the back while holding the nose to make certain it doesn’t bounce down and hit the bottom of the lake

Getting it out at home will need the help
Of a few buddies or my neighbor etc. a trailer would be more practical but my storage is limited at my house and adding a trailer would take up a lot of room in my tiny garage

i second that idea please! haha......but for real man i would highly recommend getting a trailer. loss of space in your small garage is a small price to pay over dumping your truck into a lake

Tough crowd today. I come from racing jet skis in the runabout class and have had many Boat’s. No I won’t be launching on a slippery ramp I launch off shore in dirt and have backed my truck in pretty deep with no issues. The stand up ski without a trailer doesn’t take up much room on a stand

My question was the payload not loading the ski .

well good luck with that man...i would like to atleast see a picture of your truck backed up into water if you can manage to snap one. but to answer your question, that much weight will not be a problem

Payload is 1175 pounds for 3rd gen double cabs. Subtract how much you weigh and the weight of any passengers and other gear and that’s how much you have left for the ski.

Thank you for also reminding me why I don’t like to buy used cars.

What did you get? I love stand up jet-skis but you don’t see them much anymore. I rode a 650 Yamaha SuperJet for years before I ruptured a disc in my back riding it. It was so much fun and I miss it even though I’m 40 something now. I remember I put a polished stainless impeller and a ride plate with a medium deep scoop on it and it was pretty quick.

I can only see this ending with the truck at the bottom of the lake.

If you’re going to be backing the truck into the water like this I’d recommend a diff breather for sure.

He never did say how he was going to LOAD it while it is in the garage by him self or just two people ? you know on the side with the stand its on?
Otherwise if you can pick it up to load at home you can do the same to unload (4 people?).

this guy made a custom rack it looks like, but he probable already knew what his truck can carry....
