OK, so even though I think and type a these words quite a bit, I (sadly?) don't have a ton of off-road buddies that I interface with on a daily basis. That being said, I would like to see if my guess at the standard pronunciation of the following words/phrases is correct.

I will list a few here, followed by my best shot at how I am guessing they are pronounced. Please correct me if I am wrong. I am also putting a single quote after the syllable which I am guessing is emphasized.

    Bilstein - bill'-steen
    Eibach - ee'-bock
    Dakar - da-kar'

There are probably a bunch more - I'll throw them up here if I ever think of any of them.

This is in the 2nd gen forum because there wasn't a grammar forum.

Is there a comprehensive thread for commonly used acronyms here somewhere, that'd be helpful too! (took me a bit to figure out SAS)

    1. Bilstein is on the money in my book.
    2. Eibach I pronounce as "eye-Bach" the things you see with and the classical composer.
    3. Dakar I pronounce as "da-car" like saying "the" a weird way and the short word for automobile.

I hope I've been saying these things correctly myself LOL

This is consistent with what I was going for in the OP for Dakar.

Not sure what is correct, always pronounced them in my head "eye-bach" and "day-kar" (sounds stupid to me now, i agree with da-kar)

After saying "da" and "duh" for a minute and a half, I'm a believer. I changed the OP. And my wife thinks I went off the deep end because of work.
