I'd actually listen. I feel like i still have that sentimental value with mine....last year for indigo ink, low miles, last year for no electronic nannies like traction control and stability control, still has mechanical LSD, still has a super clean frame....its my first real vehicle. I had a car but i blew that piece of fucked up fuckery up.

Pssssshhhhh! It would suck a little not having your own rig, but since your rig isn't built yet it won't suck that much. You'll learn a ton about wheeling and see all the mods in real life, with 60+ rigs there will be plenty to check out!

As for the buying food and gas... well that would be up to whoever you ride with, but I wouldn't charge nor let you pay. I'm already planning on paying my way and am a bit better off than you (due to age mostly)so I wouldn't expect anything. You could probably be just fine feeding said person a meal or two along the way even and be fine I'm sure.

You can talk with your TW hero since he will likely organize the East Coast convoy! Surely there will be a place for you :D

If I make it down this year, I may even be solo so worst case, you could just ride shotgun with me the whole trip. My wife isn't going, and I asked my cousin to go, but his schedule is about as solid as mine right now...

I thought only the TRD Sports had the mechanical LSD?

If my exams are going to be almost nothing I may be able to swing the trip, but I won't know for sure until probably the week before :annoyed:

I see. I didn't know that. I though the Offroads had the locker, the sports had the LSD and the others were open. Well I think the X-runners also had the LSD.

Apparently you have all the nannies because you have an offroad model. But do you have auto lsd?

(Auto LSD is computer operated by controlling the brakes....for those who did not know)

I have one of those rare 05-08's that has the full traction control smorgasbord. So yes I have ATRAC, VSC, TRAC, and kind of auto LSD.

I love my 4wd system for its simplicity. It's either on or off and the diffs are either open or locked. That's it. No traction control to mess with or anything. Not even ABS

I have a few magic switches that let mine basically work like that:D

I have a switch that disables VSC but leaves TRAC on so I basically have auto LSD when driving on the street, which is nice sometimes. ATRAC has its advantages over lockers when snow wheeling and I still have the lockers if I need them.

I have ABS but it thinks the truck hasn't moved in years. mean while I have manual TRAC for the front. but once it's locked front and rear with a crawl box nothing else matters.

You missed out on some good snow wheeling the weekend before Thanksgiving in Ashton! You probably would have been just fine in 2wd. The lead guy in his Willys was in 2wd the whole time and he did just fine. I left mine in 4wd the whole time, but I was dragging skids a little.

The Willys is the one at the back of this pic
