Exactly!!! You have proven my point.

My Ford F-150 electric e-brake is useless. It’s either off or on. I am very thankful Toyota sticks with a superior system that helps me use my truck more effectively. I can vary the pressure on the parking brake, which I do at times.

Calipers are cheap. The cost argument is false. That’s why EVERY other manufacturer uses them. They are cheap. Even Kia has them.

Incorrect and discs also perform much better than drums. End of discussion.

4Runner Trail wheels and Toyo Open Country ATII tires 265-70-17. Cosmetic stuff like Pro grille and OffRoad black bumper trim, vinyl delete on side, added hood graphic, OEM tube steps.
Benjamin Disraeli would beg to differ.

For you. When you are wrong, it’s convenient to end the discussion. Good move.

There are distinct advantages to drums, and no shortage of braking power in a 3G Tacoma. The only people who complain about the drums are guys who don’t like the look of them. That’s all. Those rusty drums peeking out behind the wheels are annoying to fellas who are bothered by aesthetics. It’s not about function at all.

I am glad Toyota has the sense to stick with them.

And Toyota has weathered this in the past and continues to dominate the mid size truck market.

I will have to familiarize myself with his work over a fine single malt or maybe a Pabst depending on the quality of his writings...

Trucks need torque not so much horse. As the tacoma makes less to achieve optimal performance in a truck configuration as well as to improve engine life.

Toyota has two plants to build the Tacoma, Texas and Mexico. Ford currently has one plant to build the Ranger. I am glad they started producing Rangers again as it increases competition which is always a good thing for the consumer.

I think Ford has done some things correctly with the Ranger including creating a new high strength steel fully boxed frame, great crash test results, real steel bumpers, offering only one fuel efficient drivetrain to simplify production, a real handbrake, hydraulic body and engine mounts, installing plenty of USB ports for front and rear passengers, smooth driving dynamics on the street, etc.

    Ford sold roughly 23,000 Rangers in the first 5-months of 2019. They are showing an uptick is sales each month, here are the numbers so far;

    Ford
    Ranger
    2019

    January 2,153
    February 2,899
    March 4,369
    April 5,748
    May 7,748
    June
    July
    August
    September
    October
    November

June numbers are easy to figure out as well to update your list,

    April 5,748 + May 7,748 = 13,496

    Q2 20,880 - 13,486 = 7,384 trucks in June

    Down from 7,748 in May
