Wow. I've often wondered, under TW's business model is the member the customer or the product?

My previous ride was a Ranger too, I feel a lot of loyalty to the little truck size, simple utility, lower bedsides and you could get the manual.

The new Ranger is a hard departure from that, with the size, eco boost and all that but you can’t even get a manual. It gives me appreciation for Toyota’s slower, steady more conservative approach.

This trend didn't start in 2016 though. It started a long time ago.

I own a 3rd Gen and post everything here for that reason. I never even visit the other parts of Tacomaworld. Makes sense to talk about the Ranger here since it competes directly with the 3rd gen.

The trend of a mid size truck replacing a sedan is relatively new. If it wasn't, GM and Ford wouldn't have stopped making them originally. Crossovers are the new family car for sure. The Rav4 outsold everything except full size trucks last year. There is a reason that Ford and GM are both getting rid of almost all of their cars.

I've seen two rangers around here. One was a government\company car and the other one was at grocery store with grandma loading her grocery bags.

One Ranger for every two Mustangs. I see Mustangs everywhere. Where TF are the Rangers?

    Ranger- 9,421 sold
    OUCH!
I'll be honest, I knew the Tacoma would kill the ranger but not by this much, holy crap.
My bet with @Kamille.bidan is looking pretty good. :D

Honestly who gives a stinking shit whether the Ranger/Gladiator/Colorado/etc beats the Tacoma in sales??? I didn't buy mine cause it was popular or it was what all the cool kids buy. I bought mine because when you look at the big picture, the Tacoma is still overall a better truck than its competition. Let everyone else buy the Rangers, hopefully less Tacoma sales means the price goes down a bit on the Tacoma's. Vehicle fads go and go, the Toyota small/midsize truck has been a constant for a reason. Don't let yourself be distracted by the "also rans".

Economics professor told me in college "if you aren't paying for the product you ARE the product"

He was speaking in regards to youtube, facebook etc... but seems to apply to TW too lol.
