The demand for double cab long bed are so high, yet none of the other trucks make any.

Wut? A relatively small percentage of Tacomas sold are DCLB, so I highly doubt that plays that much into it.

I think they made a mistake by targeting the pickup market and not the "I want a jeep with a bed" market. a 5' box is sort of that no-man's land where it's not big enough for a lot of truck stuff but it's significantly larger than an SUV.

I feel like the entire vehicle caters to a niche market. If Wrangler owners wanted a truck, they'd likely own one.

Gladiator will do fine. Jeep and Toyota people really don’t cross-pollinate all that much. It’ll look super bro and utilitarian done up right and we’ll all be a little jealous. That’s ok.

They're just playing the market. Nobody can dispute that the Wrangler is the premier off-roader but you put up with a lot of shit and broken bits for that capability. Why the hell would I deal with all the crap that comes with owning a jeep for a pickup that's only slightly more capable than a Tacoma or Ranger?

I'm sure the Gladiator will be very capable, but I assure I will never be jealous of how that buttass ugly thing looks.

Awe come on! The base model with 12” tires looks a little weak, but you know the Jeep crowd is gonna slap 37s on her in no time.

That doesn't change how the vehicle itself looks. lol

And the Gladiator just SCREAMS middle-age douchebag. Similar to the Hummer H2's in the days of yore.

I hate Jeeps, but I’m going to buy one just to win this argument.

That’s what I thought about the 3rd gen with that nasty grill until I saw what some members did to mod it

I still don't get what Toyota is thinking with the TRD grilles. They're so ugly, we're pretty much forced to go Pro. They got so much right with the rest of the truck's looks, what in the world are they thinking with the grilles?

They were brilliant. They knew people would buy them anyway, regardless of how ugly the grill is. But then they offer the sexy overpriced grill on the ridiculously overpriced PRO and can get people to either pay more money and step up to the PRO or shell out money at the stealership and buy just the grill itself.

Gotta say they fixed them up right for 2018. I love the black TRD grille on mine, but I may or may not black out the chrome ring. I agree though, the chrome mesh grilles on the 2016-17 were... unfortunate.

A buddy from college had a new Ford Fiesta. He hated the car and I hated even riding in it. This takes me straight back to it.

Imo a 5 ft bed looks better. Better proportion.
