I've been looking at pop-up campers lately and wonder how well my 2001 Tacoma v6 double cab would handle 3000-3500 gvwr. I like the pop-ups with slide outs for the dining table and they seem to usually run somewhere around that weight. Anybody pull a pop up camper with their 1st gen Tacoma's? Pictures are welcome.

I pulled one of these http://www.thegreatoutdoorsrv.com/rockwood/hw296 about 40 mile round trip with '01 DC v6. It was okay. Prepare go go slow up grades. If you get one this heavy, and then load all your camping stuff, you'll be near the max towing capacity. It didn't squat the truck as much as I thought it might though. A load leveling hitch and brake controller would be a very good idea if you're towing it any distance.
