Tacoma pulls right when stepping on the clutch, accelerating or braking

When driving if I step on the clutch, brake, or give it gas the truck will pull to the right. I recently changed the shocks, wheels, and did an alignment hoping to resolve the issue with no luck. There is also a creaking sound when going over speed bumps. Could this be due to body mounts being worn?

Does the steering wheel turn on its own when this happens?

 

try swaping tires left to right see if it does anything and check lca bushing. any play?

 

Have you checked to see if your frame is still in one piece? Almost sounds as if the front and rear of the truck are shifting angles.

 

My Honda Pilot has had similar issues ever since I installed a small spacer lift on it. The alignment shop said that after the lift the alignment numbers change enough when the vehicle pitches forward and back that it causes it to pull to one side when accelerating (vehicle pitches back) and to the other side when braking or slowing down (when the vehicle pitches forward). Honda's use the giant fluid filled bushings that aren't designed to cope with a lift... It is our beater vehicle so it doesn't really bother us, but sounds similar to what your describing.

I would check your control arm bushings... sounds like they could have some slop somewhere possibly.

No the wheel does not turn when this happens (from what I recall). I wonder if it is due to the body mounts.

 

No it was this way when I purchased it. I just assumed it was due to bad shocks.

I've had the same issue for the last 80,000 miles. I thought it was a caliper that wasn't fully releasing. I notice is more on back country roads where i drive more towards the middle. I just assumed it was something with the crown of the road. State highways it tracks pretty straight, so I've not bothered to investigate it much further. Report back if you find something.

 

Turns out it was the u bolts were not tight around the leaf springs after I did the drop. Tightened up and now all is good!

Well a good alignment shop will figure it out for u if u tell them what’s happening/ what your experiencing.
