Tacoma Purchase

I'm asking a ton of questions but I'm just trying to learn as much as I can before I buy. Im planning on lifting/leveling as soon as I purchase.

I'm having a pretty hard time finding one that seems perfect to me so far. Hope one pops up in the next month!

i had an '07 access cab silver i bought used in '09 with around 33 or 34k. had it for 2 years. no complaints had to sell it though oh well i kept my '03

 

IMHO buy a brand new one or find the lowest mileage truck you can. Nothing is bulletproof. Any vehicle is going to have issues past the warranty period. If your tolerance for dealing with issues is fairly low, avoid picking up a 100K mile truck because you believe it's going to be bulletproof.

I love mine, but I have a few issues with it, and it's still under 60K. My dad's Dodge Dakota has had a few issues too. But at 120K it's been minor stuff like door handles and window switches. The Tacoma has needed a throwout bearing (common issue with TSB out for it now). It's also started to seep oil a little at the timing cover. (also a TSB) These are not cheap fixes.

By all means buy one, I think you will enjoy it. But be realistic, and read as much as you can. It's rare to hear about people having issues that will stop the truck from moving down the road. But it's fairly common for us to discuss things that need attention and will cost $$.

I cant seem to find what I want used and I planned on being patient but my current truck broke again today on the way home from work...

Actually just found a 08 double cab 4x4 exactly the way I wanted and put the down payment in.
