So my friend hooked me up on this sweet rack. Its all most done just a few more things left. I wanted to show it off an get input (what you would pay ? What else would you do to it)from everyone out here in Tacoma World!! This rack is made from aluminum and its light enough that I can get it in and out of the truck by my self. He is talking like he might start building for them people (all makes)if he does these will just get better. If you would like one please let me know so I can give him an idea of the demand .

Main use is for the tent and it will fit our sky box as well. We plan on putting a shell door that locks so my unruly dogs cant jump out and possibly a canvas top.

I think it looks cool, I love the idea of the bars to keep the pups in. And the extended visibility it has over the shell. I mainly like my shell because it keeps my (3) dogs safe and happy with the windows wide open. I also use it when I put my canoe and kayaks on top. This is too low to work for the kayak so that is a deal breaker.

Keeping my unruly dogs in was one goal on this rack if we continue with this one we will put a locking gate on it . This is a one off rack if you wanted something similar he can build it to your specks tall enough to work for your needs. My goal here is to keep my man working and building fun stuff  thanks for looking!!

2 bars similar to this could be detachable and mounted on top of rack to haul ladders and kayaks. Just an idea. I like the set up. If you decide to put a roof rack on the cab I think it will reduce a lot of the drag from the rtt height.

That's a good idea for sure! Wouldn't be hard to do. I hall a ladder every once and awhile. Rack is all ready on.

I really like the style and look of it, but I don't think it would actually be all that useful to me with all those bars.

Looks cool, but for me, I would like it to be the same height as the cab. Or a tad higher. That way it can be used for long cargo like kayaks, ladders, lumber, etc.

Just asking...isn't it more a cage than a rack?

i think he wanted it as a cage to keep his dogs in...

might work too for catching zombies or keeping them out...

If herd them called cages before I'm only calling it a rack because you can mount any Yakima products to the top . This rack is a one off. he is considering making these. He's a one man army so each one would be made to order. I chose the hight and extra bars on the side for my needs. image.jpgimage.jpg

i think the cage comment was more of a joke... with the extra parallel cross bars on the sides, it makes it look like a cage

you should mess with people and put a mannequin in the back dressed like a zombie or a prisoner... haha
