I have a 2013 Tacoma Base 4 door, with an Undercover Classic tonneau cover. I love the cover, but it won't close if I have any of the tie down cleats in the rails.

Is there a solution for a smaller cleat improvisation? I've thought about drilling and tapping some steel inserts to slide in the rail, with maybe some eyebolts, but just can't figure out a solution I like.

I'm thinking someone has already solved this problem, and I'm not wanting to reinvent the wheel.
