I have back issues, and the RAV4 seats are a dream come true with lumbar galore. I'm currently hee-humming between a 2021 RAV4 and 2021 Taco. The Tacoma has much better capabilities for the associated price tag (understatement of the year). I'm looking at the Tacoma TRD offroad. Has anyone tried putting RAV4 seats into this model? Does it fit the rails or did you have to do modifications? Did it fix the legs straight out in front of you issue? The only reason I'm even considering the RAV4 is because the Tacoma has such dang uncomfortable seats. I'm having trouble finding compatible seats with the rails that aren't a different company - trying see if the dealership can swap them on the lot since they have both in stock.

Caveat: I've already bought two cars in the past with uncomfortable seats. No amount of seat cushions fixed that, and I'm not about to repeat that at these price points. I tried the "buy it aftermarket later" game and chop shop shops. I'm over it. I'm buying new with the intentions of driving this thing into the grave. Please don't judge the costs. I also understand that Chevy and Ford are more comfortable, but I'm set on Toyota. With that understanding, I look forward to seeing what you guys have figured out! If you know of other options for us lumbar extremists, it would also be appreciated. Thanks!

Just bought a 2019 3rd gen and was wondering the same thing. The Tacoma seats leave too much to be desired. Specially in the lumbar department. I also have a 2022 Rav4 XSE in the house, and the seats are a dream.

Would love to swap some Rav4 seats to my Tacoma.

    Anyone done it?
Are modifications to the rails / custom rails needed?

If you got both cars, give it a shot. 4 bolts and 3 plugs to take the seats out.

I don't know if it's the seat itself or the fact that it's so close to the floor. Reminds me of my compact cars from my younger days.

Totally agree, I have an 02 with turd seats! Just purchased a 19 Sr5 and yes they have not changed. The 19 seems to be a very good upgrade all around except for the, turd, seats. Unreal! I think I’ll start watching for some Rav 4 seats. Speaking of turd, I have even tried a roid doughnut to no relief. Rant over

You have rav4 and tacoma. Seems like you could just buy 4runner or seq instead which has both, capability and comfort.

If you must have a bed, it is Tundra.

I want to put the Tacoma leather seat into the rav4. Tacoma only has 1500 miles but unfortunately losing it to bankruptcy
    And keeping the RAV4
