Long time reader, but don't post much. However, I just had a 60000 mile service done on on my '10 tacoma and got some interesting intel. I searched the site and did not see it already posted so figured I'd share it. My service advisor let slip that there is a recall in the works for 2nd Gen tacoma rear spring packs. They've determined that the heat temper has been wrong. It is still being hashed out as to how to go about it but will most likely involve total replacement and/or reimbursement of past repair costs. He would say no more about it and advised he had already said too much. Sorry if this has already been covered.

The parts guys at my dealer told me they thought it would be spring replacements too. Which would be nice. Of course one of mine broke last year and I replaced them with General spring stock replacements. Which now have sagged as much as the originals had and the leaves are starting to spread. New factory 4 leaf springs would be nice. But I'm not holding my breath.

Sorry to hear that about your General Spring pack. I was leaning that way until I decided to do a Wheelers AAL instead. It actually raised a tad higher than I thought, and its a bit tail high, but it handles heavier loads pretty good. Which is the main reason I got it anyway.
