I posted this in the So Cal regional page, but I figure it warrants some discussion in this section, too. I'm not privy to the details of what happened here, but I stumbled upon these videos on Facebook. This took place 2 days ago (Sunday, 2/28/21) on the Cleghorn Road trail in Southern California. According to some of the FB posts, the owner was ok with the "recovery" method, as he believed the truck was already totaled from overturning and just wanted it off the trail. Sure looks like it could have been up-righted and spared much of that damage. Warning... this is painful to watch:

I would have cried like a baby. That sucks! Agree it could have been flipped over before being dragged all the way down hill. Wasn't there though so maybe I'm wrong.

So you're telling me NO ONE there could figure out any other way of doing this... besides dragging this poor truck the whole way... and the owner was okay with it because he thought dragging it in this manner was negligible bc it was "already totaled"???

You've got to love the end of the second video where he starts it up and drives it.

I feel sorry for the truck pulling that anchor. I think I would insisted that it be uprighted before I would burn my clutch out trying to drag it.

Saw this just now and came here assuming someone had it posted, so thanks.

What the hell happens now? Guy just casually calls his insurance and says i rolled my car offroading? Or is he screwed, his plate is visible.

The Cummings forum must be patting themselves on the back after this one.

Worst recovery ever, they did more damage dragging it down the trail than the actual flip over.

Reminds me of a badger dragging a carcass back to its den.

I flipped a truck over long ago .

A few scratches a smashed mirror pulled it back on the wheels with two winches one to pull the other to control the speed it came back down on the wheels .

I replaced the mirror and drove it for years
