Well, I'd love to see alternatives posted here. Seems to me the best way to get Bullet Proof to lower his prices is competition.

BP Fabricating has terrible service. I've emailed that jackass multiple times without any responses.

Don't all of the newer 2nd gens come with at least the welded recovery point in the front? I know the Off-Roads have the detachable tow hook on the passenger side front. Mine are painted red here:

Come get stuck in the mud with me in the swamp. You want me to hook up to that bolted on piece of metal and yank on it with my strap? Riiight. Light tugs yes, a good yank, no.

You seem to know a lot about tugging and yanking.

I've emailed tons of retailers with suspension component questions and all have gotten back to me immediately. It's definitely him.

Got the recovery bracket in the mail - fast delivery. Took about 20 minutes to install, mainly because I had to take off the skid plate to do it.

And even though I got the 'lite' version, it still seems pretty beefy. A lot more so than the factory one I removed - so I consider it an upgrade in my book.

Do you leave the shackle in all the time??? I put a shackle in mine, and it was a pretty loose fit. The shackle flopped to the side. I'll probably just leave it out until I need it.

edit: hmmmm, I'm thinking about taking the bracket off and painting it red. That might look kinda cool. But gdamn I don't want to have to take that skid plate off again.....

I also agree, 91 bucks for that is way to steep.... Too bad the 60 dollar ones on ebay aren't being made anymore... I really want one with a red shackle, would look super nice on my superwhite :)

Good Lord, that was from three years ago. I bet that truck has used the hell out of that mount considering it has the ground clearance of a car.

You should definitely build your own for funsies, then post up pictures. When I get back in June I have one in my garage you can have for w/e flat rate shipping costs.

A $100 flux core welder from Amazon and an angle grinder is all you'd need for something like this. Could even find some scrap steel for a few bucks with a hole already cut to the correct diameter. I got going with these small projects using a Forney Easy Weld 299 ($150) and a $20 no name angle grinder. Since then It's turned into an addiction now and my garage is full of welders, fab tables, and tools everywhere.

Could also post in the Washington thread and see if someone with tools wants to build something up. Bring a few beers over and turn it into an adventure.

If you get desperate one let me know and I can have a family member swing by my house and rummage around for it.
