That actually looks much better than I would have imagined.

I never really cared for it on the 'originals', but yours looks pretty sharp, because it ties all the other trim together. I'm also not a fan of black wheels, but again, in your case it works, because it flows with the whole theme, not just something someone bolted on because they don't like OE wheels.

    Good job!

Thank you! I think there's nothing cooler than oldschool. My first vehicle was this 85 4runner. Sadly it was problem after problem. So I decided to get something new and bring that look I love to it! 4runner%20ad_zpsziy4viig_cbba82f237b9ef6568f01a846468b54a60814752.jpg

Thank you! I appreciate it. It's funny I get a lot of comments like that with this build. People saying they usually don't like this and that but that it just works with this build!

Some SCS F5 wheels would really tie it in for the retro modern look.

I like it! I think a white truck was the perfect color to pull it off with.

Thank you! I was originally going to buy a red one. It sold 3 days before I sold my 4runner. I was bummed and ended up getting white. At first I felt pretty regretful getting it. But after doing everything with it I couldn't be happier!!! Just like you said it's the perfect color to make it all work!

I like it! You should get those old school flexible "4WD" mudflaps for it next.

What's the ballpark cost on that rollbar? I went to the website, and alas...no posted pricing. I've got a UWS toolbox in back, but would love an old school style rollbar and throw on a bunch of KC Hilites for the Taco. But I'm not sure if I wanna give up a fullsize toolbox for a smaller one...dilemma dilemma lol

I love this man. My landlord has an old Mojave edition sittin behind the house I rent and I've been contemplating a throwback build myself. I'm glad to see yours coming along so well. Keep it up!

I looked at those decals as a way to break up the whiteness on my DCSB. Looks great on yours!

Thank you!! and yes it's amazing what it does for the truck. I felt like I was driving around in a fedex van before everything

Roll bar was 615. You have to call them to find out your shipping.

So which decals did you go with? I know the video said 84-85 but are these rescaled for the newer Tacoma like the old SockMonkey decals or are they original size? I'd like to do something similar to break up the lines in my truck.

As one of the multititude of teenage boys who saw Back to the Future in the theater and wanted Marty's truck, I'd have probably gone with the yellow KC covers just for nostalgia but otherwise I love the look. I think I still have a pair of original KC's with the yellow Daylighter covers off my first FJ40 somewhere in my parent's garage.

Yes they are made to fit this truck. If you call up james he has the kit made to fit the 2nd generation tacomas. I know he also did another old kit to fit the same years. Not sure what else he has retro fitted. Here's the link to it

Those stripes look great. I think you should remove the nameplate on the tailgate and lower the SR5 down a bit. But that's my humble opinion.
