Hey all! I am offering my services to build custom HID headlights for anyone who is interested for the 2012-2015 Tacoma's.
HID's are the best way to increase your headlight output with high quality solid, bright, consistent light that wont blind other drivers like Halogens or LEDs.
I have been building custom retrofits for years on may different types of vehicles, and I can customize them anyway you like, halos, LED strips, demon eyes ect.
I mount each set on my own truck in order to align the projector beam patterns to ensure they are absolutely perfect, which is why I only build headlights for 2012-2015 model Tacomas
The components I use are all brand new, top of line parts from TRS, and everything, including my work, comes with a warranty.

Will these work with LED headlight bulbs rather than HID?

 

Unfortunately no, these are made specifically for HID's, and the bulbs are included with each build, you can pick what color bulbs you want.
The bulbs themselves come with a 2 year warranty.

 

That's a bummer. I don't like the "bi-xenon" HID lights, or worse, losing your high beams.

Any chance for LED retrofits in the future?

 

You don't loose your high beam with these.

 

Oh you don't lose your high beam with HID's. The Bi-xenon just means that the projector has a high and low beam, so everything still works the same as the stock headlights.
But either way, HID's are much better, brighter and longer lasting than LED headlights

 

How do you keep your high beams? Is it a reflector based setup?

I have OEM HID headlights (made by Valeo) in my Mustang. They use the D2 HID capsule with a reflector that flips when you want to engage the high beams. The light output from the capsule is constant; the only change in lighting is the angle of the reflector.

What a wretched setup. When the motor goes the entire fixture is useless. That wasn't so much of a problem in 2008 when you could buy them, but Valeo has since discontinued making the fixture so I am S.O.L. the next time a motor craps out.

If this is the type of HID setup we are talking about I can wait until LED technology gets better. Not impugning Captain Morgan's work, it looks great and I would love to acquire a set (the first one listed, white/amber looks AWESOME) but not with outdated HID technology.

 

That sounds like an odd set up haha, but no, these HID kits are completely separate from everything, they have their own wiring system, so all you do is plug them into your stock wiring harness so you can control them on/off and high/low beam using your normal headlight switch. Very easy to install. Ill try finding a video to show you how they work
