Keep an eye out for the Westcott Designs Roof Racks coming out soon!! Super clean, fitted design, minimum gap between the roof and side slats, 2pc mounting system for a stronger rack than the other guys, and made in the USA in Phoenix, AZ.

On a lot of the other racks, the companies cut the side slats and then bend the mounting tabs 90 degrees to mount to the roof, creating a weak point in the aluminum on those bends. The Westcott Designs rack does not bend the side slats but instead uses 6 individual brackets bolted to the side slats, not only creating a stronger mounting system, but now a more adjustable mount for anyone who may be more particular about making sure the rack is sitting exactly the same on both sides of the truck as well as the wind deflector.

Ive been reading a bit about the various offerings, and you have me curious - can you explain how the two piece mount is stronger than other designs?

I like. Hopefully the price is comparable to Prinsu or Victory. I'm about to pull the trigger!

That's a slick looking rack, not going to lie. Locked into my Front Runner right now though. If I didn't have it however, I would be gunning for this.

AZ has a bunch of great shit here. You can do Skydive, water sport, hike, mountain bike all year long. Even ski in the winter! @therealprotaco , need a roof rack, let's go fondle this rack.

TRD Pro suspension with Headstrong 3 Leaf AAL, DV8 OR front slimline bumper & Engine Skid Plate, RCI OR high clearance bumper, CaliRaised Trail Edition Sliders, Spidertrax 1.25" Wheel Spacers, 265/75 16 GY Duratracs, wrapped the OEM wheels, OR Roof Rack, Extang Exceed Hard top Tri fold tonneau.
And you get a free bottle opener too! I like the idea of the adjustability, I put some washers above the spacers with my Martin OR to raise it up just a smidgen to provide just a little more space in the front of the wind deflector. I don’t know if the strength deal is a problem for others, but it’s not been a problem for me, however, I’ve never had more than a couple of hundred pounds on my rack. It seems very solid, and I wouldn’t be concerned about even double the weight on the Martin OR rack. I might be more concerned about the additional connection points becoming loose and possibly damaging the roof if they were adjustable, but probably need to see how it all connects together before making any predictions with it. One thing for sure, the more options the better!!

Jeff makes great stuff. I have his Pro Lift on my taco. Not interested in a roof rack though. Just not something I will ever use.

Man the local Toyota scene is getting weird though. I thought State48Offroad was an off road club!

I like the idea of having separate brackets to mount to the roof/rack. It would make the install easier for one person since you could focus on one set of holes at a time and not an entire side of the truck.

It’s their spacer/not a spacer lift. Basically raises the spring perch on the pro struts in the front and a small top spacer. Then a 1” block in the back. Since I’m really just towing with it and needed an alignment anyway I figured why not.

As far as a roof rack....unless it can carry a samurai on top of the truck definitely not in the cards....

Victorys rack has 6 individual steel mounting brackets that bolt to the aluminum side slats.

    Super sturdy.

    Not knocking the Westcott.

A bunch of other extrusion clones have separate mounting feet. Nothing really special. Looks like any other prinsu type rack. Differentiator on these things comes down to price and being local.
