I do feel for you, but this is an issue with all cars and trucks in some places in our nation. Anywhere you have heavely salted roads and salty air from the sea you have this problem. The only thing I can metion is the next car you buy have it inspected by and independent and trusted mechnic. This saved me from buying a VERY nice Chevy that was 4 years old and had a bent frame that was not diclosed.

I agree with you that when buying a used vehicle, it's buyer beware and the person should have a thorough inspection of the whole vehicle. I feel for her son too, especially owning that same year Tacoma and thinking if it were me in her son's shoes.

What I disagree with you on is your statement,"this is an issue with all cars and trucks in some places in our nation. Anywhere you have heavily salted roads and salty air from the sea you have this problem". There were 2007 Tacoma's failing inspection in 2014, with a perforation to the frame and having to be taken off the road, so you have a 7 year old Toyota Tacoma, that is basically a giant paper weight. What is the difference between Toyota replacing 2005 Tacoma leaf springs, which were over 11 years old for being defective, to not replacing frames that are defective. Toyota was never given a 25 million settlement for the defective leaf springs, but are still recalling them and will be spending 897 million to do it.

You could say the 2005 Tacoma leaf springs are over 11 years old and all trucks in some places in our nation, Anywhere you have heavily salted roads and salty air from the sea you have this problem, but Toyota knows the leaf springs are defective, like they know the frames are defective and should also be recalled in my opinion. I feel at the minimum, if they aren't going to recall the frames, they should at least offer the 2nd generation Tacoma's, what was given to the same frame made by the same company of the 2001-2004 Tacoma's, by offering people a 15 warranty on defective frames, in my opinion is just telling owners that we "Toyota", stands behind are product and it's reputation as being a reliable /high quality vehicle, which as owners we all paid a premium for.

I have never asked Toyota, why they wouldn't cover are generation trucks, when they did it for the 2001-2004. I have tried to take care of my truck the best I could, after buying it new. The service agent said my frame looked liked it was from the south, when performing the LSC it was so good, but everyone who had a frame made by Dana should qualify for a warranty extension. I would like to hear their explanation why, certain frames qualify and others don't, when they are all the same defectively made frame. I hope mine never fails before 15 years, but Toyota should stand behind their reputation for building reliable/ high quality vehicles and the Tacoma, for a frame perforation.

There is a class action pending. if you have a rusted frame or even if you have traded your unsafe vehicle in due to the rusted frame please contact the law firm above. Get your name name added and pass on the information.

Bill Milligan stated that the end result they are looking for is to have Toyota buy back the effected vehicles.

So Toyota wont replace my leaf springs from the recall because the frame is too bad and they don't want to "compromise the integrity" of it while doing the repair. Yet they applied the CRC in December of 2014 and its gotten worse! So do I let my 16 year old drive a truck where the leaf springs could puncture the gas tank?? Hell no! Or he gets in an accident and the frame buckles? Hell no! I am afraid that we are going to have to trade it because as a parent I can't let him drive that vehicle and I can't wait around for a class action suit. BUT... I am still going to pursue getting the information out on the class action and post it everywhere I can and make as much noise as I can. Sorry if you see me positng the class action info multiple times but I want this info out.
