Well, it's all out of our control. Buy/drive your Tacoma and enjoy. I don't give a rat's ass about all this doom and gloom. It's still a troll's thread.

I’ve already bought mine almost seven yrs ago, I still enjoy it and having fun.

I paid taxes on it (well over $3k) the moment I signed on the dotted line. If I buy a new one, I’d have to pay another $3-5k on it, and whom ever buys mine will be paying close to what I paid in tax again. How’s that gonna work out for us.

You’re already under water before you put the keys in.

And let’s not talk about the rising insurance on a new vehicle that you have to have. At this rate, you may have to pry the keys from my cold dead fingers lol!

How’s that for gloom & doom

What does “underwater” mean ? It’s worth less than what you paid ? Yea. That goes for any consumable item.
Also it’s funny … no trucks on the lot bad= I can’t get what I want.
Trucks on the lot bad = sky is falling

if you wanted a Tacoma now is the time to get one and got get to wait out the next Gen 2 years of shit quality.

@The hammer, the whole taxation thing varies dramatically from state to state. Many (most?) states which charge sales tax on vehicles will only charge said tax on the difference between what was traded in compared to the price paid for the new vehicle. Said another way, what may be true for your state may well be totally different for a different state.

Well like it or not, all indications its going to get worse next year before it gets better. Maybe by the 4th quarter things will start turning around, but i wouldn't hold my breath.

Once the government stops causing these problems, it will get better. Than all we need to worry about is the dollar losing the status of the Dominate currency.

I've about given up on finding a new Tacoma or other new vehicle to replace my 2017. Inventory is still hit or miss and it's more enjoyable to buy a few things for my current truck and bolt them on than negotiate with some a hole in sales on a new truck that isn't on the lot. I'll probably try again next year. :burp:

I’m really not that gloomy. But I could be very wrong, so I’ve hedge, no need for me to take any chances here.

My reasoning is that lower oil prices and other commodities will lube the economic wheels that have to turn. Also, smart companies like Ford, are showing us the way by making cheaper alternatives to same class vehicles like the F-150, to lower priced units such as the Ranger and Maverick.

Hopefully TOYOTA will follow suite and build an affordable truck like they used to many years ago, until things get better because I think the MacMansions days maybe over for a while.

The dream isn’t over, it's just on a pause until productivity rises and we get fiscal responsibility back on a leash.

I drive by my Toyota dealer and like some have mentioned the lots are dry. I look next door to a Dodge dealer and it is so full of Ram trucks that they can hardly find room to park them on the lot so they have them down on another lot.
Same goes also for GM and Ford lots full.
Was told the reason Doges are not selling but Toyota are sold before they arrive on the carriers so this why their lots are empty. Believe me I see a lot of Tacoma in my area so people are buying them. just saying

Same for my neighborhood...saw a neighbor driving by in a new white frontier pro 4x. No more ram. At any rate i never see him with the same truck for more than 5 years.

One of my area Toyota dealers texted me mid-week. They just had their first Tacoma arrive to their lot not pre-sold in nearly 2 years. It was a white SR5 DCSB 4WD. The Ram truck lots have been full of new vehicles for several months.

I might go with a king cab Frontier. I like the Pro4x trim but that's only available in a crewcab short bed. I still like the Ranger, it's the beefiest midsize was available with a vinly floor and a regular key.

The thing I like least about the Nissan is PTS no vinyl floor, and you have to get an SV with a $2k option pkg to get heated mirrors. Sort of like Toyota.

Nothing you say, no evidence you provide, and no amount of bare Toyota new vehicle lots will convince the Troll/OP the sales of the Tacoma are down for any other reason than a drop in demand.

The demand for new retail vehicles is down. There are a plethora of factors involved. I don't need convincing.
