I spent a bit of time looking over the F150 inventory honestly, when I got ready to pull the trigger on my Tacoma. I spent the majority of time researching the Tacoma, Frontier, and the new (not out yet, but I think is now) Colorado ZR2. When I did look over the inventory of the F150's, just for the few things I actually wanted (my wife to be able to pick a temperature as well as me), remote start with app, and some type of package that made it like universally acceptable as your daily driver versus a work truck (you know, not the work truck steering wheel or trim, etc) - I was upwards of $62k on just the F150. I also spent the last few years in a Volvo xc60 - so I got used to having a smaller cockpit...I didn't like the feeling of how open a full size truck was (especially since I don't really *need* one).

A couple of my neighbors (two actually) have a brand new F250 with the diesel. I glanced at them and they were all upwards of $75/$80k on the lot.

Yeah the crew cab diesel are around $80k. The Platinum Tremor 6.7 was $95k back in 2020.

I went from a XLT 3.5 F-150 to a STX 2.7 I like the work truck steering wheel and column shifter. Didn't need the 3.5 either, but I could have lived with it.

I think the STX package is pretty nice. I believe the ones I saw had the bigger center screen, and the shifter in the console. Even the wheels seem nice. But none of them had temperature select or the wifi app thing. I think (at least from what I saw) you had to go to the XLT for those two things.

I think all F-150s have the app there could be some out there due to supply chain restraint that did not. STX has the 8" screen that looks like an etch a sketch No dual zone climate control, it's a truck cab? but I'm not married. Similar interior as XLT with the sport pkg, as it's all black the seat fabric is different. The regular mirrors on the STX have spot mirrors, the XLT did not but it had BSM and you can opt for cameras. I don't know why Ford does not offer spot mirrors with BSM and optional cameras? Auto start stop was also deleted, for 23.

Ahh that’s good to know. I hated that feature.

That’s the one thing I miss from my f150 was those blind spot mirrors.

I love my 23 stx with the 2.7. Almost 1800 pounds of payload smoked my 18 pro Tacoma. The power, ride, and quality are night and day better than my pro. I didn’t realize how underpowered my tuned taco was till I drove one of these ecoboost. Not to mention the cab size for car seats. Still got the wife’s t4r but I’m sold on these new f150s. I leveled it, added clazzios, line x and cover, and it consistently gets 26-27mpg driving back and forth to work at 55-60mph. Using x plan truck came down to 47 and some change. New taco prices around me are about the same. Gunna be an awesome hunting rig.IMG_8660.jpg

The engine does idle down quite a bit at a complete stop, almost like auto start stop is present with out completely shutting off. I think the engine is programmed for the feature, and since it isn't there it stays running. I simply turned it off before, but didn't pay attention to the rpms at idle and it was a different engine. I can also hear more of what's going on the XLT had more sound insulation and I think the 2.7 spools up quicker than the 3.5, or it sounds that way.

That looks nice. I went from a crew cab to a extended cab, which was the reason I switched trucks. The Super Crew is nice plenty of room in the back I don't think anyone ever sat back there. I did like the ride of the FX4 shocks better those were softer but still handled well or better imo that truck also had 18s and this one has 20s. I think the weight of the larger cab also helped in that department. I do like the center console this one has the front bench, as do all of the Regular Cab trucks.

I'm contemplating bilsteins and Tremor wheels for this one.

Yeah. I think that if I did go to a full-size, I’d have picked the f150 with the 2.7. At least over the Ram or the Chevy.

honestly, I felt there was plenty of room in the access cab for even a couple 6’2 kids. The problem with that, for me, was selection was so limited in the access cab. Also, I literally can’t stand watching as people exit. Someone is always bound to shut the front door, then the rear passenger shuts the back door. Unless you remind them every single time. But it never fails, as soon as you forget, SLAM…no matter how many times that same group of people sat in that same configuration.

Seems like a good amount of room for people to sit in the back of the super cab, and 4 real doors are more convenient. I still have to get used to the extended cab configuration. Maybe a Super Crew with the 6'7" bed would be nice to have. That's more truck than I need.

In my opinion, if any car has less then 4 real doors, it's really uncomfortable. So, I share your view, I guess.

I test drove a new ecoboost FX4 supercrew a couple of weeks ago. Tons of power, but it drove like a pontoon boat and had way too much body roll. I didn't make it a 1/4 mile down the rode and took it back to the dealer lot.

My Tacoma and even my old 2020 TRD 4Runner rode better imo. The Wildpeak Bronco rides better than those F150s too.

If I could find a new Raptor for MSRP without dealer markups I'd probably make the switch. For now the Tacoma does 90% of what I need and is still worth more than I paid new 6 1/2 years later, but I digress. :burp:

F-150s are sloppy in the turns, but I have seen people pass BMWs and Corvettes in the turns whith what looks like very little effort. Like all trucks there's no need to be doing that, it's a truck. 3.5 F-150 Police Responder was rated as the fastest production ICE truck on the market, I believe beating both the Raptor 3.5, and Ram TRX, it was only by seconds or points of a second. I wouldn't expect that to beat an EV truck in 0-60 times. I wouldn't say Ford builds the best 1/2 ton.

I've check for EV slalom test results and can't find any, nothing that easily comes up with a search result. There are always 0-60 and other such straight line tests.

I'd like to have Raptor, I really wouldn't mind having a 2dr Bronco, neither is a very practical vehicle for my use. The Raptors are pricey I'd probably go with the Bronco out of those two. I saw a minimum of three new Bronco Raptors on the road one day last week.

    Ranger Raptor, sorry TW
Price increases are out of hand. I ordered a F-150 Tremor in 2022. Mid level equipment with quite a few options. Came up to $62,500. Now a Supercrew XLT is $62,500 without ticking every option. I guarantee the Ranger Raptor will match the price of the AT4X Edition One, totally ridiculous. But a 400hp Ranger sounds sweet.
