Nah no way man! Why would economics factor into vehicle sales?

Home sales are way down too, so are new builds and cancellations of home contracts. My guess is people just don't want to live inside anymore. There are no other reasons

Look, I like 2nd gens as much as 3rd gens, but just because you feel like your second gen is better doesn't mean you need to go around spreading misinformation in the 3rd gen forums. To paraphrase you from some other posts:

"I just saw a 23. The driver seat looked like an old couch."

I'd like to see the seat on your 2nd gen, surely it must be better!

    "I'd buy a Frontier over a 2023 3rd gen."

I'm sure you'd take anything at this point over your current truck.

Move along, people. This guy has no clue what he's talking about. Basically half of all of his posts are him complaining/hating about 3rd gen Tacomas in this forum. (He doesn't even have one. Jealousy is a weird emotion...)

I don't know if Rivian will beat any manufacturers sales numbers. They only manufacture two vehicles currently. They might produce more vehicles than Lucid, and Polestar.

After Tesla, the most common EV I see on the road is Ford Lighting. Ford plans to produce more Lightnings which will take sales away from both Tesla, and Toyota Tacoma. I do see a few Mach E, Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Kia EV6 on the road, but those are not pick up trucks.

Look at the drivers seat on this new SR5 the fit and finish isn't what I expect from a new Toyota. The passenger side seat looks fine.

Ford has a lot of plans. So far they can’t keep up with their big mouth.

Maybe it's down because they've run out of suckers that are willing to pay the prices the dealers are asking for.

I would say they are the worst at delivering a product.
I have been seeing trucks seats like that since the introduction of the power seats. There were even last gen 2021 Tundras with what I think are less than quality seats. Seat foam shortages, and less emphasis on QC. Quality control takes a back seat to empty sales lots. I don't think that has slowed sales.

It might be because dealers are trying to tack on every accessory they can and make it mandatory to purchase everything including thousand dollar window tint. I was going to purchase a new vehicle recently but all the Toyota dealers kinda turned me off to it.

Maybe it’s the fact that many dealers are tacking $10K onto MSRP.

I was a buyer at MSRP, I found 4 local dealers with stock, none would sell for less than $9K over MSRP. I wasn’t in the mood to throw down $55K OTD on a TRD OR.

Ended up buying a used one for $30K…it’s got 100K miles but with the $25K I saved, I can rebuild the whole truck twice if I need to.

OMG man what do you do for a living? In large scale manufacturing, QC never takes a back seat to nothing, especially sales. I am not in QC but I sit in monthly QC meetings and if a ppm of something goes up a hundredth of a percent month over month that department is like CSI tracking it down and fixing it. QC cares about nothing except beating their established quality targets.

Just have to be willing to drive or fly for a deal. You can snag loaded TRD OR for low $40’s. It’s a deal compared to a Frontier for $45,000 and a ZR2 for $44,500. Haven’t priced a Ranger with Tremor package but I’m sure dealers are discounting them somewhere (Granger Ford is a popular honest dealer).

My Lightning reservation just got switched to "you can order now." If you know of a streamlined way to take my reservation, you can have it.

Keep in mind interest rates are way up as well. Some people refuse to pay $800/ month for a basic pick up.

Imo, only a fool pays over msrp, let alone even at msrp. Lots of other competition out there willing to sell you a vehicle.

Toyota Global does not care about the North American truck market. I'm sure Toyota motor corp NA does. What Toyota puts out in the NA truck market is probably with in their specifications. Which are probably inline with the rest of the NA truck manufacturer specifications.
