I’m going to call major bullshit here.
250,000 Tacomas x $40,000 rough atp= 10 billion in annual sales for the Tacoma
    85,000 units x $50,000 roughly for the tundra = $4.25b

so roughly 14.25 billion a year in sales for Tacoma and Tundra and “Toyota doesn’t care?” Lay off the crack pipe

You can call bullshit all you want. I'll let you borrow my phone, and I'll dial the number for you.

David from Automotive Press says in this video that nobody in Japan cares about trucks. He also says that Toyota headquarters in Japan is not all that interested in what goes in with Toyota Trucks NA.

Which is obvious when you look at Toyota trucks, they have a strong American influence on design.

Toyota does not want to lose out on truck sales. Tacoma is still the #1 seller of midsize trucks in NA. Their sales numbers were also down for 11/22 compared to 10/22.

Just trying to confirm here that there a business Professional that doesn’t care about 15 billion in sales. I’d love to call that number

fwiw, sales of everything fluctuate from time to time. lots of valid reasons this occurs and does not aways indicate a product is good or bad.

Lol. You have to be trolling.
Toyota built over a million vehicles in 2020 worth 37 Billion dollars. They don't care?
For reference, that is equal to all F150 and Chevy Silverado sales combined in 2020.
    Google is your friend dude.

David from Automotive Press is not a business man. He wants to sell advertising by saying things that drive clicks.

I think Toyota global takes the position that they do not care what Sweers does in NA as long as profits remain consistent.

I've got a 2nd gen Tacoma which I like. I don't care if Toyota Tacoma sales have good month or a bad month. The impact it has on myself personally is 0.

I think both Ford and GM midsize and 1/2 to sales are down for the year, and probably down in November compared to October.

Tacoma sales will probably be down in 22 from 21, simply due to external economic factors. That does not change the numbers.

2020 figures have nada to do with 2022 sales numbers. There's no reason to augment the reality of the situation. There's nothing to gain from that.

It does, because that is the last full year of official Toyota reporting, not YouTube videos from clickbait people.

    He sounds credible IMO.

You are arguing with me, let that sink in. About sales numbers that are coming straight from the manufacturer Toyota.

What do you disagree with? :D

My post is about sales numbers being down 1506 units between 10/22 and 11/22. Those numbers are for all Tacoma sales in the US for those two months.

Those are the sales figures. Midsize truck sales will be one this weeks automotive media topics. Just like the 11 other months of the year. It's not that controversial.

You also seem to be trying to pushing the narrative that it matters. It doesn’t. Like, at all.

No it doesn't matter at all.

I said it's not a good sign for the #1 selling midsize. Which it still is, because if Toyota continues to constantly sell less Tacomas. There is the possibility that they build less Tacomas. Keeping inventory low, and prices high. That isn't beneficial for anyone who is in the market for a 2023. Which could very likely be the last year for the 3rd gen.

I wouldn't want to pay a mark up. I'd take it a step further and not even want to do business with a store that does market adjustments. Now if that same dealership was to give me a price I was Happy with, that's about as far as my principles go.

I was looking at a new 4Runner last month that was advertised at a price of 1k below MSRP, all of the incoming 4Runner had a mark up. Needless to say I didn't buy it, and it sold.

I don’t think Tacoma demand is down, sales are a mess everywhere because the supply chain is broken and in shambles. It really is that simple.

What maybe complicating sales/demand figures, is the abundant overflow of paper money and easy credit before, followed by money and credit tightening now, in an attempt to cool the demand and match the supply that is available.

Our economy was working on the economies of scale, and got turned upside down.
End result; total chaos, disorientation and uncertainty. Understanding the math can be blurry here

Like others have said sales are down because production is down. I know several people currently looking but have found nothing. My neighbor has been searching dealerships from LA to Seattle for the past 4 months with no luck. He finally last week settled on a LS460 that a customer changed their mind on when it arrived. He was one of 30+ people on that dealerships waiting list for "anything that comes in".
