A pickup truck is an implement, a tool just like a shovel or a farm tractor, nothing more. One day it will wear out, rust away etc.

A vehicle that is treated like a new born baby will not magically last forever or even like you back. Unlike a bottle of wine it will not get better with age.

It is not an expression of ones lifestyle or an extension of ones personality. It will not make up for any shortcomings of stature.

With everything we have to worry about in this modern world, you are getting your bowels in a knot over a scratch.

If you have that panel re-painted, you will not only be out of $500, you will also probably get a note in the Carfax report saying that body work was done. This could mean to someone that it was in an accident; therefore it will be worth less money.

It is what it is, a truck, nothing more.
