Are you talking about the factory service manual (giant, phonebook sized thing), or the user manual that comes with your vehicle?

Toyota Factory Service Manuals are available through Toyota's websites, however you have to pay (15 bucks will get you a two day subscription). Bits and pieces are available in .pdf format, but the majority of the manuals are straight HTML, making it difficult to retain for offline use. I'm sure there's a way to do it, but it might be labor intensive.

Some dude posted a link here to free downloads of older Tacoma FSMs in .pdf format. If that interests you, you should be able to find it with a few searches.

Find an online fsm that opens with Adobe and save the file to your computer. That's what I did.

The hard-copy version costs around $400-$500. I'm thinking of spending $15 to see the online version at toyotaowners.com, on the off chance that its downloadable.

I'm interested in the same thing as OP. I'd be nice to have it on my iPad. Instead of flipping through a phone book, you could text search for what you need, and jump around easier.

^Yo! Thanks....those are odd links, with the http call in the middle. It looks like the same zip I extracted before, into a directory structure with an html index, that ipad no likey (well, dropbox can't handle). Looking around last night, I couldn't find a pdf copy. Just hafta deal with the html version

I like to attach the files of my manuals to emails, send them to myself, then put them in a folder. That way I can get to them from anything with internet access.

That's a good work around. I usually print the pages I need at work then bring'em home...But you never know what else you might need, and without internet access, DOH! There ARE a few sites claiming to have the thing in pdf, but they are very suspicious, wanting to "verify" but not charge a credit card

Yes, I print off what I need, what if I get it dity, or torn, or lose it.. Having it in my email allows me to never lose it, I can pulling up on my phone if I need too (if I have service). It works out nice.

Be careful with where you try and get them manuals from. Toyota went around a year or so ago and forced websites like NCTTORA to take down the manuals.

They're odd links because archive.org stores web pages from across the net. That link is referencing the stored page on archive.org's site.

And bummer it's not a PDF version.

Edit: Actually, if you look...every single page inside the ZIP is a PDF...not really as usable as single mega-PDF, but still...
