So i replaced the u-joints on the drive shaft. But bow as I’m driving the truck once it hit 45mph or higher it starts shaking. And when I release the steering wheel, it starts going to the right. Do you have any idea what to look for??

Did you phase all of the u joints properly? Is everything torqued properly?

Front shaft, rear shaft or both?

As a guess based on the information provided I would say the drive shaft is out of phase as stated above.

    OR

You fudged up one of the universal joints when installing and maybe lost or crushed some needle bearings in one of the universal bearing caps.

Any issues with the driveshaft and u joints should not cause the truck to veer left or right. Was there other work done? Is it a hard pull or a soft pull.

Sounds like you have an alignment issue.

That’s what I thought too. Not sure how to best explain it but not too hard but I can definitely feel a slight pull.

Did this happen immediately after you did your u joints? An alignment that is just bad enough for a slight pull is not going to cause bad shaking. Tires Balanced?

I have noticed that the boot gasket on the Suspension Ball joint is out. Before I take it in. Do you guys recommend a certain brand?

The shaking started after the u-joint replacement? The pulling sounds like an alignment issue… but it is possible if something is binding on the driveshaft it could be causing some force on the rear differential, forcing the rear axle to shift/twist slightly and can cause pulling…

like others have said, did you make sure to index the u-joints in the same way they came out? I have replaced u-joints before and have had to send the driveshaft out for rebalance as well, sometimes you get lucky and there are no issues… where are you located? It might be worth to pull the driveshaft off and take it to a driveshaft shop to have them spin it and check balance…

My personal opinion avoid the dealership at all cost. I am already hearing that dealers are refusing vehicles that are over 10 years old, WTF!
