Hey guys Im still new to the forums and dont know much about tacomas, anyway this is whats going on...

If I floor it on the freeway, or sometimes even if I just rev it really high in Neutral or Park the engine will drop RPM's after I let off of the gas pedal, and then the rpms drop and the engine turns off...Upon trying to restart the car, it wont turn over unless I give it a little gas at the same time...and then after it starts up as soon as let my foot off of the gas it just drops rpm's and turns off again

eventually I can start my car up normally and drive normally, but it has happened a few times when I floor it like that.

( I know the obvious answer is just dont floor it like that, but I want to know what the actual problem is so I can fix it)

thanks in advace...any suggestions are welcome, I have no idea where to start

That happened to me the first time I put that 10% ethanol gas in my truck. I was on a long haul road trip so I couldn't pull the tb apart but I did put about 2 bottles of fuel injector cleaner in it and it solved the problem right there. Hope that helps.

if that doesnt work, i had the same issues and it turned out to be a dirty MAF sensor...

if that still doesn't work, it could be your Idle Air Control Valve... if so, THAT gets expensive to replace as i believe it's a dealer only item...

X2 about the MAF. And buy some SeaFoam Deep Creep spray. Use that to clean your throttle body. Works wonders.
