All depends on what you are going to do after the lift. Sure there is more than one way to do it but the cost of maintenance will differ too.

I put 100k miles on my 2004 with a Revtek 3” coil spacer. She saw some off-roading and even jumped all four tires off the ground at a railroad crossing one night! Zero issues.

Top spacers cause shocks to break if you don’t extend the bump stops to counteract it. And top spacers allow your LCA to hang further at full droop, which can put CVs in more of a bind.

Coil spacers limit up travel, but it’s the same thing as getting new adjustable coilovers and cranking them up 2”- you now have 2” less up travel.

If you’re going to run spacers, run the coil spacer- the ones that you have to take your strut/coil assembly apart to install. Way more reliable.

If you drive on a smooth road with a spacer lift VS a proper coil lift & properly paired leaf pack, will you instantly notice a difference? Likely not, not on a straight smooth road. But if you’re a suspension nerd and you appreciate how your truck handles undulations or even just a recessed manhole cover, or railroad tracks or bumpy intersections, you’ll immediately notice a smoother & less jarring more planted ride with a real suspension lift. You will also flex better off road if you actually go off-roading and you’ll find the experience more enjoyable I think. Spacers will get the job done but come with drawbacks that become apparent once the road surface gets less perfect.

Yep. That’s the difference between $300 and $3000. That’s why I have over 300k miles combined on 3 trucks with coil spacer lifts. Lol And I’ve off-roaded them. Did I run 60mph over whoops and jumped all four tires multiple times? No! But I wouldn’t do that if I had Kings either! I take care of my vehicles and they take care of me.

5100's are so cheap, spacers shouldnt even be a thought that crosses peoples minds

    Bad

Causes this because the shock bottoms out before the LCA hits the bump stop.
